The Shop Repair at Pitkin Yard and Power Upgrade at The Concourse shop is a 18 month project that has it’s challenges due the fact that is a project with two Job sites (Pitkin in Brooklyn and Concourse in the Bronx). Additionally The work also has to be performed while keeping both barns active since these barns are 24/7 all year round. The work has been completed and we are currently working on additional work orders that were added to the project and also commissioning the equipment and systems that were installed. The following is the scope of the work performed: Pitkin Yard (Brooklyn): • Remove and Install two New Trolley and Stinger systems • Provide Steel supports for DC Power Stinger Systems • Install a 2-TON double girder bridge overhead Crane with four lift hoists • Install a New Roofing system for the entire Shop • Install a Hand Rail System around the entire perimeter of the roof • Install 10 New Roof Mounted Exhaust Fans • Provide 10 steel Supports for new Exhaust Fans Concourse Yard (Bronx): • Install New Switch Gear • Remove and Install New Trolley and Stinger Systems • Provide Steel Supports for DC Power Stinger Systems • Remove and replace Multiple Tracks at Both Ends of the Shop • Install Underground Duct Banks and Manholes across and along the tracks for DC Positive and Negative Cables • Install New Negative equalizers at North End and South End of the Shop • Build New DC distribution room & Fire alarm room

Mill Basin Bridge is progressing ahead to meet our first major traffic switch and the opening of the westbound bridge by July 4 2017. Presently structural concrete is 85 percent complete and will be wrapping up in mid-January. Structural steel is presently 50 percent complete. Work approaching Jamaica Bay has started and will continue through the winter. Concrete pavement is 50 percent complete on the south approach. Drainage is 45 percent complete on the north approach and will continue through the winter Spring 2017 will be active with the pouring of the remaining bridge decks and concrete pavement. Subcontractors will include Atlas concrete for curbs and barrier, Tonnage for rebar, Safety Marking for striping, and Royal Guard for guide rail.
