One Vanderbuilt

Project Manager: Anthony Manganiello & James Ku

One Vanderbilt is a new project that we’re working on with a private developer, SL Green Realty. The project is part of the $200M infrastructure modifications and off-site transit improvements for the new One Vanderbilt skyscraper that will be NYC’s 2nd tallest building, located next to Grand Central Terminal, to be completed by year 2020. The off-site transit improvements include a 2-Phase project for MTA New York City Transit Authority. Halmar’s work for Phase 1 of the project is to rehabilitate an existing decommissioned pedestrian tunnel, the Mobil Passageway located under 42nd Street, and create a new subway entrance at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue to connect with the Grand Central

Terminal mezzanine for pedestrian access. Also in Phase 1 of the project is to construct the P-10 Stair that is a new 7’-6” metal staircase that connects the Grand Central Mezzanine to the southbound 4, 5, 6 subway platform. This P-10 Stair requires opening up the basement level of the 125 Park Avenue Pershing Building, located at Park Avenue and 42nd Street, including concrete and steel demolition, structural excavation, and new concrete construction. Halmar’s Phase 1 work started in October 2016 and is slated to be complete by July 30, 2017. We are currently working on the demolition in the 125 Park Avenue Pershing Building basement and structural excavation for the new P-10 Stair.
