JANE KUGELMAN Keeping Jack’s Legacy Alive

JJane Kugelman had a zest for life, laughter, friends — and an indomitable spirit. She survived cancer not once but three times and underwent six operations on her hip. Her life also revolved around loving her children and family, spending time with close friends and, of course, giving. She spent years carrying on the legacy of her late husband Jack Kugelman, who took over his family’s foundation and believed strongly in “helping a vast array of people be better off.”

She instilled the value of giving and helping others to her four daughters, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

My grandmother always told us, “If you’ve led a fulfilled life and you’re fortunate, you give to someone else in need,” says Jane

Lauter, grandchild and current Chairman of the Kugelman Family

Foundation of her late grandmother and grandfather. “Making a positive impact in our community was important to my late grandfather and grandmother. And it is a legacy we strive to carry on today.”

Thanks to Jane and the Kugelman Family Foundation’s generosity over the years, The Studer Family Children’s Hospital is rising out of the ground, and with it, brighter futures for all of the children and families we serve.

Jane once said, “I want our family to be a part of the future of

Sacred Heart. I think that’s what our family, through the work of our foundation, is about — growing things in our community and making a positive impact. This children’s hospital will have a positive impact on the lives of many children and their families across our region for many years to come.”

We will continue to live by Jane Kugelman’s legacy and share her vision with generations of children and families in the care of The

Studer Family Children’s Hospital. We will deeply miss her.
