Yttersvingen is phase one in a development project between Vestsiden and Varden in Kvitfjell. The apartments are due to be completed for the 2021/2022 season. This prospectus shows 3D illustrations of apartments, buildings and views. The end-product may differ.






Surrounding area 38 apartments, grocery store, and all facilities nearby! At Yttersvingen, you have everything within easy reach. As soon as you have park your car in the heated garage (with EV charging points), you can drop your ski equipment in your ski-locker, and take the elevator up to your apartment. The skilockers are fitted with a drying system. Next-door at Skitorget, you find all the facilities you need – such as ski hire, restaurant, lift-pass shop, sports store, and ski-school meeting point. Yttersvingen has its own grocery store with all the supplies you need for your holiday, and also some local treats. Yttersvingen is set to offer accommodation of the utmost quality throughout and in a winter paradise with excellent snow conditions, 700 m above sea level. These apartments offer genuine ski-in/ski-out, with slopes right on the doorstep.

Yttersvingen has slopes, lifts, children’s area, and cross-country ski trails right on its doorstep. The Vestsiden Express chairlift takes you to the top of Kvitfjell and a multitude of pistes and lifts, and the gondola whisks you across to Varden in some 90 seconds where there are 5 km of family-friendly green and blue slopes. Pudderskogen is a large freeride area for when there is plenty of snow, and Vardenskogen is a forest piste with exciting woodcarvings for children. The children’s area, KIDS Skitorget, is only a short slide from Yttersvingen, and so are the chairlift to Vestsiden and the gondola to Kvitfjell’s most recent addition, Varden. KIDS Skitorget offers slopes for beginners and the very young, and it also has a Kids World Cup run. In the adjacent building, Skitorget, you find a sports store, ski hire, lift-pass shop, and the Gondolen Fjellbistro restaurant. The popular restaurants, Tyrihanstunet and Lettvint, are also within easy reach. Yttersvingen offers excellent cross-country skiing opportunities, and has direct access to a 600 km network of trails. It is also possible to take the lift to the top of Varden and start your trip on the bare mountain.







Restaurants close by

Gondolen Fjellbistro Gondolen Fjellbistro is only a stone’s throw from Yttersvingen, and serves up home-cooked food such as burgers or pasta, hot and cold drinks, high-quality coffee, and an excellent atmosphere. There is also a small kiosk on the terrace if you prefer a hot soup and a drink in front of the open fire.

Tyrihanstunet Tyrihanstunet is a short walk from Yttersvingen, and comprises three charming restaurants in traditional Norwegian style: Tyrihans Skicafè, Pizzahuset, and Fjøset après-ski. Put on your skis, and you will soon reach this complex offering good food in an ideal location by the slopes on Kvitfjell’s Vestsiden. On the menu are classics such as club sandwich, tomato soup, and pizza.


Lettvint café og bar Lettvint is an informal café and bar in which you can enjoy activities as well as light dishes and a range of beverages. It differs from the other restaurants in Kvitfjell – not only by its interior and atmosphere, but also the opportunity to enjoy shuffleboard, dart, beer pong, and board games.

Varden Restaurant Situated on the top of Kvitfjell’s most recently added slopes, Varden Restaurant offers a spectacular panorama with Rondane and Jotunheimen as a backdrop – which in itself is worth the visit. On the menu are homemade breakfast, sandwiches, and lunch dishes of high quality. Varden Restaurant also holds wine and tapas evenings throughout the season, and is only a chairlift-ride from Yttersvingen.



Apartments Yttersvingen’s 38 apartments have elevator access, and sleep from 4-9 people. Some of the units are interconnecting, which is ideal when several families are travelling together. For the children At the nearby KIDS Skitorget, Children get to meet Jøkul, our mascot, and can learn to ski in a fun and safe area with a magic carpet lift. In addition it has a button lift, a KIDS park with jumps and rails, and the Kids World Cup slope – a mini-version of the World Cup run where you can measure you speed and get a photo of yourself on skiline.cc. There is also a BBQ hut free for all to use. The area is clear and delimited. Here, children and beginners can learn to ski in a safe environment. The children’s ski lift is great to practice riding a lift in. The experienced lift hosts will help sthe children. In Kvitfjell, it is easy for the children to advance from the belt lift to the button lift, and eventually try their hand at the slopes on the Varden and the west side, and maybe in time all the way to Olympic slope!

Vestsiden – Kvitfjell’s sunny side

Vestsiden (the west side) is renowned for its varied, family-friendly pistes. Bjørnliløypa is the kindest, Vestsideløypa is ideal for cruising, and Kvitfjelløypa is hilly and fun. The lesser known Bruløypa is a fun option for the playful, and offers speed and excitement. Ride Fjellheisen to the top, and you have a three spectacular runs to choose from. Wherever you turn there are stunning views, spectacular scenery, and fresh mountain air.

Food and drink at Vestsiden Vestsiden has several welcoming and popular restaurants. Tyrihanstunet is renowned for its excellent food and charming surroundings, and comprises a café, pizzeria and bar. On the menu are treats such as club sandwich, sandwiches, soups, salads, and a range of hot and cold drinks. Gondolen Fjellbistro is located at Skitorget, next to the gondola, as serves delicious burgers, soups, cakes, hot and cold drinks, and barista-prepared coffee. Lettvint café and bar is situated by StudioH, at the bottom of Oleheisen (lift K), and offers light meals, good drinks, shuffleboard, and a small shop selling second-hand sports gear.


Mellomstasjonen Mellomstasjonen (the middle station) is the eastern side of Kvitfjell, and features the world-famous Olympiabakken used annually for the World Cup downhill and super-G disciplines. This is where you find the most challenging pistes Kvitfjell has to offer. Did you know that Olympiabakken has been voted one of the world’s top 100 downhill runs by CNN? Nasjonalanlegget, Olympiabakken and Karirenna are all varied and advanced runs with bends, challenging terrain, cornices, and steep drops. However, there is also the more family-friendly Familiebakken – a wide slope ideal for slalom training and comfortable cruising. Children at Mellomstasjonen Kids Gudbrandsgard is situated close to the car park and Gudbrandsgard Hotell. This wonderful children’s area for children has a section for novice skiers as well as a fun forest piste and rolling run. For this season, there is one magic carpet lift in operation.


Restaurants at Mellomstasjonen At Mellomstasjonen, there are several options to choose from when hunger strikes and feet get cold. Gudbrandsgard Hotell offers lunch in Lobbybaren – or on its sunny terrace when the weather permits. On the lower ground floor of the hotel, and with direct access from the slopes, is Beite – a restaurant serving German and Austrian inspired food, wonderful cocktails, and a wide selection for beer and wine. Koia is a charming, intimate Alps-inspired log cabin, and is the ideal spot for a quick lunch in form of gourmet sausages and goulash soup, home-baked chocolate cake, and drinks of every kind. After a day on the slopes, Koia offers the best après-ski. Fôr is located by Kids Gudbrandsgard, and serves delicious lunch dishes, multi-course evening meals during weekends and holidays, and excellent bakery products One floor below is Børson – a grocery store open daily. At Kvitfjell Hotel, you will find Panorama restaurant and Utsikten bar.


Varden

– Kvitfjell’s most recent addition Varden is the most recent mountain side added to the Kvitfjell resort, and offers family-friendly pistes. A new gondola links Varden to Vestsiden, and a 6-person chairlift takes you to the top. Varden has a green and a blue run ideal for beginners, and offers Kvitfjell’s best snow conditions. From Varden, you have access to Pudderskogen – a forest area perfect for freestyle skiing. On days with plenty of snow, some two kilometres of fun from top to bottom await. For the children, there is a separate forest area called Vardenskogen with exciting woodcarvings to discover.

Food and drink at Varden At the top, Varden Restaurant serves up a delicious lunch dishes, hot drinks, and spectacular views. The restaurant is also accessible from the cross-country ski trail, and is open in the evenings during weekends and holidays.




Summer Kvitfjell offer spectacular hiking and cycling opportunities in summer, and the Gudbrandsdalen valley is a true outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.

MTB trail riding Mountain biking in Kvitfjell is an activity suitable for all. As you ride along dirt roads, or perhaps some challenging trails for the more experienced, you get to enjoy stunning views of Rondane – and experience the world of Peer Gynt.

Hiking Kvitfjell and its surrounding area offer spectacular walking terrain, and have something for everyone. Along the Peer Gynt trail there are numerous opportunities for short and long hikes – unless, of course, you feel brave enough to take on the full 900 km stretch.

Hafjell Bike Park Hafjell Bike Park offers Norway’s best lift-assisted downhill biking. The idea is to use the ski lifts to get to the top, and then zoom down the hills as you would when skiing or snowboarding in winter. Our 18 purpose-built tracks twist and turn down through the forests surrounding the alpine runs, and feature fun elements suitable for all skill levels.

Family-friendly summer activities Øyer is home to the popular Lilleputthammer activity park and Lekeland indoor play centre. Cross river Lågen, and you reach the renowned Hunderfossen Family Park, the Children’s Farm, the Norwegian Road Museum, and the Olympic bobsleigh and luge track. As you can see, there is plenty to do for the whole family.


Towns and villages Ringebu village Ringebu is situated by the foot of Kvitfjell, approx. 20 min. by car from Yttersvingen, and is a charming village with a wide selection of shops and cafés. Among the highlights are Hev serving products from its bakery in Lom, Annis Pølsemakeri and restaurant, and several welcoming speciality shops. Ringebu also has the world’s biggest cheese slicer on display, and is teeming with activity both summer as winter.

Fåvang centre When arriving from the south, Fåvang is where you turn off towards Kvitfjell. Here you find a selection of grocery stores, the “A bite of Norway” restaurant, a bakery, and some

Lillehammer A 45-minute drive south is Lillehammer town centre – ideal for an urban day out with a visit to the art museum or cinema. Lillehammer is home to both the Maihaugen open-air museum and the Olympic Museum, and has a shopping street as well as a large shopping centre. It also has fitness centres (SATS and Spenst), and offer other activities such as Escape Room and paintball. Tempted to try a different alpine centre? Hafjell, which is another Aplinco ski resort, is a mere 40 minutes by car from Kvitfjell, and you can use the same lift pass for both.
