Pause for Thought What good news would you like to hear today? You’ve won the lottery? Got a job? Illness has been cured? We all have issues and needs and we think it would be good news indeed if our problems were to disappear. Well I’ve got good news - not just good news but amazing, incredible, lifechanging news! YOU are of immense value and worth. God thinks you are so valuable you are worth dying for. God says that in the Bible. It says “God so loved the world (that’s you and me) that He gave His one and only Son (that’s Jesus) that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3 .16). God loves people so much he gave Jesus to die a cruel vile death on a cross so we could be forgiven. You might think that is not the good news you need – but here’s why it is.......Everybody ends up in the same place - rich or poor, famous or not. The Grave. BUT Jesus died on the Cross and paid an extreme cost for all the wrong stuff we each have done. If we are truly honest, we know we have done wrong. God knows that too. We only get into heaven by receiving God’s forgiveness. Jesus did not stay in His grave – but came back to life and made a way to everlasting life in Heaven. That really is the ultimate Good News.
