We have created a YouTube creation how to sheet to help when you are creating video’s Click the sheet below to download
TIPS WHEN CREATING VIDEOS
1. Videos should be short - people’s attention spans are short. It doesn’t matter if they are very interested and engaged in your subject matter, attention spans are still short. Ideally videos will be 5 minutes or less. If they absolutely have to be longer, do not go over 10 minutes. 10 minutes should be the absolute maximum time limit.
2. Camera angle - never shoot a video with the camera pointed upward. Because you’re talking and demonstrating you want the camera to level with you, or directed downward to get closer to the product. Shooting the presenter with the camera looking upward, only accentuates someone’s physique and/or the underneath side of people’s nose, chin, etc. It isn’t flattering and it can be very distracting for the viewer.
3. Sound quality matters - people can forgive mediocre video quality. But if the sound is low, distorted or sounds like it was recorded inside a cave, your viewers will tune out. Make sure to articulate clearly and concisely.
4. Lighting - lighting doesn’t need to be complicated, but it needs to be there. Lighting will make even a low-quality camera produce much better video, and people just enjoy watching videos that are well-lit.
to form one cohesive video.
The benefit of jump cut videos is two-fold:
5. Editing with jump cuts - one of the easiest and fastest ways to record a video is using the jump-cut method. A jump cut is when your video is actually made up of dozens of short little clips all placed together
1. It saves time when recording, as you will not need to memorize any long scripts.
2. It keeps the video pace moving along quickly, thus keeping the viewer engaged. To record a jump-cut video, write out your entire script beforehand, but break it up into simple, easy-to-say sentences. By breaking it up into simple sentences, it will be also be easier to record those short sentences/ sections and re-record easily if something doesn’t come out the way you’d like.
6. Grab people’s attention in the first 5 seconds - how many times have you started a video only to close out
of it in just a few seconds because it didn’t draw you in? Your audience is no different. Today’s video viewers are very particular; you have to grab their attention in the first five seconds if you want to keep them around, which makes your video intro extremely important. An intro might simply look like someone coming on camera to explain what’s going to happen in the video: “In just five minutes, I’m going to show you how to _____and _______, and share some helpful tips along the way to ensure a quality repair or installation.” This gives the audience confidence that they’ve found the
video they’re looking for.
7. Have a solid wrap up - your wrap up could include a call to action at the branch, subscribe to your channel, watch additional videos, contact your team, or more. Be sure not to leave your viewers hanging at the end, wondering what to do next. Instead, make their next steps very clear in your wrap-up.
