The Ponoi River lies just on the 67th parallel, that is within the Polar Arctic Circle, and flows into the Barents Sea after 400 km, which makes it the longest river of the peninsula. The Ponoi campsites, which have become legendary due to the absolutely incredible number of fish caught by every rod, rank among the top ten of the business. With

over 1000 fish on 20 rods in the opening week, this is more than legitimate – these are mere numbers, that say nothing about the fulminant bites on dry flies and riffle hitches in summer, or about the ballistic acrobatics of a fat autumn fish... Here are some pictures reinforcing this impression.
