Our after-school program focuses on building selfconfidence and character. We emphasize the Y’s four core values — caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility – in every activity and interaction. In addition to supplementing what students learn in school, they participate in a variety of structured activities, get assistance with their homework from trained YMCA staff, have a chance to socialize with their peers and form new relationships.

Bus transportation is available from Hamilton Avenue, New Lebanon, Julian Curtiss, Cos Cobb, North Street, Glenville, and Parkway.

KIDS NIGHT OUT

NOV 15, 6:30PM

Take a night off and let us entertain the kids! Drop them off at 6:15 PM in the Game Way Lounge on the 2nd floor for a fun-filled evening of pizza, games, crafts, movies, and more. Pickup is no later than 8:30 PM (M1/M2). Our trained staff will ensure your children have a blast while you enjoy some time for yourself. Registration is required.

TRAILBLAZERS HIKE

NOV 16, 9:30AM

Join the YMCA of Greenwich’s Trailblazers Club for a scenic 4-5 mile hike at Tod’s Point! Led by hike leader Linda Parentice (look for her in a light blue baseball cap), this is a great way to explore nature and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Don’t forget your hiking shoes and sun/bug protection. See you on the trails!

TURKEY BINGO

NOV 21, 6:00PM

Join us for our annual Turkey Bingo event at the YMCA of Greenwich! Celebrate Thanksgiving with 10 exciting rounds of bingo, where each round offers the chance to win fantastic prizes, including everything you need for a perfect turkey dinner. Enjoy a fun-filled evening with family and friends while savoring pizza and refreshments.

YOUTH ENRICHMENT TUMBLE

Our Tumble Classes create special parent-child bonding time through sensory stimulations and physical play. Children will really shine in this class which stresses cooperation, selfconfidence, independence and basic gymnastics skills. Each class begins with circle time and features a different piece of gym equipment each week.

Y-PLAY

Y-Play is an exciting and engaging movement gross motor class designed specifically for infants and toddlers, fostering their physical development through a blend of fun, creative movement and activities that encourage crawling, rolling, jumping, and more.

TWO’S TIME

This program will provide a casual and nurturing introduction to nursery school. During class time, your toddler will be introduced to such activities as: Sand & Water Play, Circle Time, Motor Activities, Block Building, Art, Imaginative Play, Puppetry, Hands-On “Manipulatives”, Language Development, Story Time, Music & Dance.

YOUTH SPORTS

KIDS IN SPORTS

The Y has partnered with Kids In Sports, a team of sports educators, who’ve created an expertly designed curriculum that is innovative, age-appropriate, and fun! Their multi-sport program for younger children grows with your child–from adult participation to separation classes. These classes begin to focus children on the principles of six sports (soccer, basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and hockey), teaching fundamentals ofsportsmovesandgeneralgameplayrules.

MULTI SPORTS

Multi sports offers participants the opportunity to try a variety of sports and activities. Participants will develop skills, coordination, confidence, teamwork abilities, and anunderstandingofthebasicrulesforvarioussports.

BASKETBALL

CONDITIONING WORKOUT

Elevate your game by adding our conditioning workouts to your routine. During sessions participants will work on cardio and endurance exercises, strength and speed training,anddrillstoimproveskillsandagility.

Y HOT SHOTS: BASKETBALL FUNDAMENTALS

Participantswilllearnthebasicsofbasketball,from dribblingtoshooting,withfunandengaging opportunitiesforkidstolearntherulesofthegameand developfundamentalskilldevelopment.Participantswill alsocompetein3v3games,toapplyandpracticewhat theyhavelearned.

BEGINNING CHEER

This beginner level cheerleading class will focus on teaching the fundamentals of cheer, including proper stretching and conditioning, motion technique, jumps, cheers, dance, and beginner level stunts and tumbling. Participants will develop coordination and a foundation for higher level cheer programs while having fun and buildingconfidence.

YOUTH ART & MUSIC

CREATE & INSPIRE

Children will join Miss Debbie for a fun, active, mixed media art experience of “open-ended” process art. Drawing, painting, clay sculpting, model magic, and more! Artists will create their own unique art using an abundanceofengaging(andoftenrecycled)materials.

MUSIC & MOVEMENT

This class combines music with physical movement for maximum fun! Activities include singing, dancing, playinginstruments,andmovingtothebeat.

PIANO PRODIGY PROGRAM

Piano Prodigy revolutionizes music education through gamification. Designed by expert music and piano instructors, this fun, intuitive program teaches your children to play the piano through innovative new gamingtechniques.

Piano Prodigy classes are offered for both beginner and intermediateplayers,withlevelsforchildrenages3-12.

HIP HOP DANCE FUSION

Get ready to move and groove with our exciting hip hop classes! These classes focus on rhythm, creativity, and self-expression through energetic dance routines. Participants will learn the latest hip hop styles while building coordination, confidence, and teamwork skills inafunandsupportiveenvironment.

BALLET

Health and fitness are important at any age. Our Teen Wellness programs are designed to encourage kids to create healthy habits and to develop and reach their fitness goals.

NON-CONTACT

BOXING

Learn the fundamentals of boxing technique and self-defense in our youth boxing classes. Improve strength, endurance, and athleticism while relieving stress and having fun.

NON-CONTACT BOXING OPEN GYM

A limited opportunity for our youth to practice skills learned in their boxing classes or for those that simply want to punch the bag. In this hour a wellness associate will monitor the room to ensure safe usage is followed. This is not a structure workout, but rather an opportunity for our youth to access a typical adult only space. Bring your own gloves!

YOUTH SWIM LESSONS

WINTER SESSION: NOVEMBER 11 – JANUARY 26

Following the YMCA National Swim Instruction Program, our curriculum on teaching water safety and comf followed by stroke development. A are held in our Alumni warm-water 30 minutes with the exception of y levels 4-6 which are 45 minutes.

SWIM EVALUATIONS

If you are not a member of the YMCA of Greenwich, or have not taken a class within the last session at our facility, a swim evaluation is necessary. Registration without an evaluation will result in non-refund. Evaluations take approximately 5 minutes. No evaluation needed for children under 3 years old (i.e. Parent & Child Classes). LEVEL A1 & A2

Parents accompany children in Level A, which introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment through exploration and encourages them toenjoythemselveswhilelearningaboutthewater.

LEVEL B1 & B2

In stage B, parents work with their children to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fundamentalsafetyandaquaticskills.

LEVEL 1

In stage 1, students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely exit in the event of fallingintoabodyofwater.

LEVEL 2

In stage 2, students focus on body position and control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely exit in theeventoffallingintoabodyofwater.

LEVEL 3

students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmicbreathingandintegratedarmandlegaction.

LEVEL 4

Students develop stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and learn the breaststroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water andelementarybackstroke.

LEVEL 5

Students in stage 5 work on stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safetycontinuesthroughtreadingwaterandsidestroke.

LEVEL 6

In stage 6, students refine stroke technique on all major competitive strokes, learn about competitive swimming, and discover how to incorporate swimming into a healthylifestyle.

YOUTH SWIM LESSONS

In addition to our standard youth swim lessons, we are now also offering programs designed to help young swimmers and aspiring water polo players prepare for a future in competitive aquatics. These programs teach kids the fundamental of the sport and work on their skills and technique.

NOODLE WATER POLO

Noodle Water Polo aims to introduce juniors to the sport of water polo. Players will use noodles or floatation devices to stay afloat so strong swimming skills are not necessary. Through participation, water polo skills are learned with greater ease, as well as the development of water confidence and water skills in a team environment.

SWIM CONDITIONING

This program is designed to provide swimmers with practice sets to support them with building confidence to take their swimming skills to the next level. Practices include development of all 4 swim strokes, starts, turns, relays, diving and more! This small group, learning environment will give swimmers a sense of what it feels like to be part of a team.

GREENWICH SWIM CLUB

Greenwich Swim Club is a non-competitive program that offers children ages 8-12 an opportunity to work with certified USA swim coaches to improve their swimming skills and to build community by being part of a swim teamstyle environment.Swimmers will learn to build strength, speed, and endurance while refining their stroke technique in a non-competitive environmen

PrivateorSemi-PrivateSwimLessonswithaYMCAcertified swim instructor could be just what you or your child needs to get comfortable in the water or achieve your swimming goals. Lessons are designed for ages 3 and up. Semiprivate lessons are designed for swimmers similar in age andswimlevel.

ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSONS

We are proud to offer adaptive swim lessons led by our highly trained and compassionate staff, certified by Swim Angelfish. Through the Swim Whisperers® Adaptive Aquatics Training, our instructors are equipped to teach individuals with special needs, confidently guiding swimmers of all abilities toward swim success. Our program is designed to support swimmers with ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, or any type of emotional, physical,orsensorychallenge.

MASTERS SWIMMING

The Marlins Masters Swim program offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels with coaching to enhance freestyle technique and confidence in Butterfly, Backstroke, and Breaststroke. The program focuses on drills, endurance, and is suitable for beginners looking to improve and experienced swimmers including former competitorsandfitnessenthusiasts.

As the largest and most elite program in the east coast, Greenwich Aquatics serves over 250 athletes each year, with many being selected for zone and National Team training squads. Our elite athletes are highly sought-after recruits by collegiate coaches and somehaveevengoneontocompeteintheOlympics!

MARLINS DIVING CLUB

The Marlins Diving Club offers diving instruction from the beginner level to the senior competitive level. The program emphasizes positive learning in a safe, fun, inclusive and competitive environment and provides an opportunity for all levels to participateatlocal,regionalandnationalevents!

MARLINS SWIM TEAM

The Marlins Swim Team is a USA-Swimming and YMCA year-round program. The Marlins Swim Team provides children and families with opportunities to experience competitive swimming in a fun, exciting, and positive environment with a highly experienced and accomplishedcoachingstaff.

WHERE ATHLETES GROW

With three highly competitive and nationally-ranked aquatic teams, and a Olympic-sized Natatorium, our Y is the premier aquatics facility in the area.

More than 500 athletes compete under he YMCA of Greenwich banner, with many going on to compete at the collegiate level. On these teams, our young athletes develop not only the physical skills of the sport, but also strengthen their foundations of teamwork and self-confidence. ADULT WELLNESS

In addition to our standard Group Wellness classes, we also offer multi-week programs that are professionally designed to deliver a fun fitness experience. At the Y, our programs encourage people of all ages and activity levels to improve their overall health — and we provide a supportive community to do so. Adult Wellness Programs are for adults ages 18+.

ADULT BOX & BURN

Come learn the foundations of boxing in this class that will teach you boxing techniques including offensive and defensive drills and footwork using mitts, pads, speed bags, partner drills, and heavy bags. This program is purchased on an individual class basis.

GROUP SWIM LESSONS

WEDNESDAYS, 6:15PM

Our adult swim lessons are designed for nonswimmers and swimmers ages 18 and older who want to be more comfortable in the water with proper strokes and breathing techniques. In adult lessons, swimmers will learn the skills needed to start swimming longer distances and feel comfortable in deep water without a floatation device.
