TRANS-EUROPEAN TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS FROM A SINGLE SOURCE

Transporting goods between various European locations is a complex business. With this task, Knorr-Bremse has faithfully turned to GebrĂźder Weiss (GW). The solution: The goods are redistributed to six European countries from the central hub in Passau. In-plant management also relieves the strain on the company and provides efficiency to all logistical workflows.

THE CHALLENGE Knorr-Bremse was looking for a logistics service provider to optimize the transport of goods between the six production locations in Europe. The challenge: ● Ensuring the uninterrupted and rapid handling and transportation of goods ● Relieving the strain on the complex logistics processes in Kecskemét (Hungary)


THE SOLUTION


THE SOLUTION Gebrüder Weiss built a central hub to serve as a handling point for international factory traffic for Knorr-Bremse. The goods are bundled in Passau and forwarded to Knorr-Bremse’s six European locations. The services at a glance: ● Customized transport solutions from a single source: General cargo with GW pro.line at intervals fixed on a daily basis; flexible part and full loads with GW direct.line ● Consignment volumes: approx. 45,000 shipments a year with a volume of over 47,500 tonnes ● In-plant management: dedicated GW employees relieve the strain on all logistics processes directly at Knorr-Bremse’s location in Hungary ● Regular shuttle journeys between the hub in Passau and the individual Knorr-Bremse locations

THE BENEFITS Efficient goods handling The hub in Passau ensures the efficient handling of goods to and from the locations in Europe. GW is the single point of contact for the customer, i.e. there are no complex coordination processes with different service providers.

Reliable deliveries Shipments are coordinated with each other according to a fixed schedule thanks to GW pro.line. This means that the customer enjoys a high degree of planning security and reliability.

Simplified management Gebrßder Weiss’s in-plant management relieves the strain on the customer, enabling them to focus more closely on their core business.
