AT A GLANCE:

HILTI

Based in Schaan (the Principality of Liechtenstein), Hilti AG is one of the world’s leading tool manufacturers. The company supplies the construction industry with technological products, systems, and services. Around 24,000 people are employed by Hilti in over 120 countries. Hilti has its own production plants, research and development centers in Europe, Asia and South America.

THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE The successful transport of general cargo, which GW has been performing for Hilti for over a decade, should be expanded to cover Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Slovenia. The daily collection of goods and rapid transports had to be guaranteed here. The challenge:

● Collecting the goods at short notice several times a day from the logistics centres at Vienna-Leopoldsdorf and Nuremberg ● Rapid and safe transport to the customers in Austria and Eastern Europe

● Careful transport of hazardous goods (e.g. ADR class 1 detonators) or long goods (e.g. special rails with a length of six meters) ● Transparent shipment tracking at any time

THE SOLUTION

THE SOLUTION GW offered Hilti an optimum transport solution, a combination of cargo and direct shipments. In order to save time and resources, the goods are collected at the GW cross-docking hub in Maria Lanzendorf (Vienna/Austria) and transported together. The services at a glance:

● Delivery of goods several times a day from various Hilti locations to AT, HU, SI, SZ, SL ● Guaranteed delivery of goods within 24 hours, around 2,000 shipments per month ● Safe transportation of hazardous and long goods ● The Control Tower ensures the highest level of transparency across the board

THE BENEFITS

THE BENEFITS Delivery within 24 hours GW collects the goods several times a day, uses the fastest connections within its own network and delivers them to the Hilti customer centre or directly to customers in five different countries – and all this within just 24 hours.
