Full Body Barre

This class is for you if you want to strengthen & tone your body with low impact on your joints. Using classic dance moves, students will increase flexibility and mobility of knees, hips, and shoulders. This fun workout is adaptable to your physical skills and limitations. Students need to be able to stand and move for 60 minutes. We use a chair and the barre to assist with movements. There will be no floor work. SUPPLIES: Wear comfortable clothes, dance socks with traction, or bare feet. Bring a water bottle and light weights (under 3lbs.).

Stretch, Strength, and Stabilize

Learn specific exercises to promote whole body bilateral correction and alignment, and establish functional strength and balance. Expect to create a practice that will help and even eliminate body pains, stiffness, and chronic pain from injuries and postural issues. SUPPLIES: Bring yoga mat, two yoga blocks (soft, 4x6x8), and one yoga strap. No jeans or belts please.

Total Body Conditioning

This fun fitness class provides you with a safe and challenging workout designed to increase your cardio endurance, body flexibility, muscle strength, and balance. We use bands and your bodyweight for resistance. Exercises are non-impact, easy on joint replacements and arthritis. Students need to be able to stand for 60 minutes. This workout is adaptable to many skill levels. SUPPLIES: Wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. Bring a water bottle, one exercise band with handle, a light stretchy band, and a medium tubing band with handles.

YOGA Yoga for Beginners

This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. The basic, foundational yoga postures will be practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in the body. We'll incorporate breathing techniques and meditation as well. This class will move at a slow pace, as the focus will be on building a strong yoga foundation. If you have never practiced yoga before, or if you have practiced in the past and want to renew your practice, this is the class for you.

SUPPLIES: A yoga mat is required, also bring yoga blocks and a blanket if you have them.

Gentle Alignment Yoga

This is an all-levels class designed to develop self-awareness and strength for a stable foundation in your yoga practice. A combination of seated, standing, and lying poses will be used. Classes are eclectic in style. Emphasis is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar's principles of alignment.

SUPPLIES: Bring yoga mat, yoga strap, two yoga blocks, and one or two Mexican style or thick blankets.

Gentle Chair Alignment Yoga

Chair yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available: release, relax, and rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. With the assistance of a chair, students will experience poses and breathing techniques, reaping the benefits of yoga without getting up and down off the floor. Classes are eclectic in style. Yin Yoga

Do you want to relax the mind and body, sleep better, and gain more flexibility? Try Yin Yoga. The essence of Yin Yoga is to surrender and be passive in your poses. This focuses on postures that lengthen the muscles surrounding the hips and back. Students typically hold postures for 3–5 minutes to lengthen the connective tissue that surrounds the joints and increase its elasticity. The experienced instructor will give many options for students with medical restrictions. SUPPLIES: Wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle, a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, straps, Mexican blankets, and (optional) a bolster.

Yoga Plus a Chair

No yoga experience necessary and all are welcome. This very gentle class is mostly seated on a provided chair. No need to get down on the floor. Emphasis will be on calming and relaxing breathing techniques with traditional yoga poses using the chair as a prop for extra balance and stability. SUPPLIES: Bring essential equipment; a firm yoga mat (not spongy), one yoga strap, two Mexican style blankets (not towels), and two blocks (props available to purchase from instructor).
