Welcome
Auction Direct USA
It is no secret that purchasing a car – let alone the right car for you – is a huge time commitment and can be stressful. The process can seem daunting, and it is easy to get overwhelmed. And there are many questions to consider: How do you decide on the make and model? Do you need four-wheel drive? What gas mileage and features do you need or want in a vehicle?
When it comes to purchasing a previously owned car, you may have additional questions. Here in Victor, Auction Direct USA is the premier destination for previously owned vehicles. Carrying the largest inventory of cars under one roof in the Greater Rochester area, the Auction Direct USA team will be with you every step of the way until you find a car that checks all your boxes.
If you don’t find the right make and model you’re looking for at their Victor location, Auction Direct USA has a second location in Raleigh, North Carolina, and they will bring a vehicle up for you. Additionally, with their 5-day or 500-mile money-back guarantee, Auction Direct USA tries to make your car search as stress-free and straight-forward as possible.
Customer-Centric Service
While there are many different dealerships to choose from in the local area, Auction Direct USA strives to earn your business by committing to a customer-centric and welcoming environment. Unlike other dealerships, Auction Direct USA offers a one-price concept that has revolutionized the car-buying process.
This one-price concept is exactly as it sounds: they list each car with one price guaranteed to be the market’s best price. With the one-price concept, everything is transparent in the sale, there is no need for negotiation, and there is a “no-haggle” mentality. The goal of this approach is to make buying a car as streamlined as possible for the customer.
Auction Direct USA is open 24/7 online, so if you are interested in browsing what is available, their website is a great place to start. If you see a car that calls your name, make a VIP appointment, and a sales representative will have the car ready for you when you arrive at the dealership. Or if browsing online doesn’t feel right for you, Auction Direct USA welcomes walkins at any time.
According to General Manager Alan Friedman, the average customer travels 22 miles to visit their superstore. This is a significant distance, considering the area’s many dealership options, and Alan and his team appreciate the community’s trust in Auction Direct USA. As a locally-owned and locally-operated business, providing customer-centric service to the Rochester community is at the heart of Auction Direct USA’s work.
Their mission statement focuses on key values like trust and open information exchange, because they want each customer to feel supported in each automotive purchase. By empowering every customer they serve, Auction Direct USA prioritizes the customers’ needs and anticipates barriers that may arise.
After you choose the perfect vehicle but before you drive it away, the car goes through a rigorous 125-point vehicle inspection to ensure the vehicle’s top-notch performance and to ensure that it carries the best market price possible. Each car purchase also comes with a free CarFax report to guarantee transparency in the vehicle’s history.

More Than Just a Dealership
The superstore nears 20 years of business at their Victor location, and with each passing year, they continue to flourish. Friedman has been with Auction Direct USA for over 13 years and has been General Manager for nearly 11. In the last decade, he and his team have grown the retail business by hundreds of cars each year.
He is proud of the team he and his coworkers have created, especially considering that many of the team members have been there for 10 years or more. Alan prioritizes customers’ needs when they look to buy a car, and he also works to generate a supportive environment for his staff of roughly 75. Auction Direct USA is passionate about empowering its staff, and that energy is evident as customers walk through their doors.
Auction Direct USA is also highly involved in local philanthropic efforts throughout the year. Whether it be supporting food drives during the holiday months or donating to organizations like the American Diabetes Association, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Auction Direct USA regularly gives back to the community.
Why Buy Used?
Auction Direct USA operates with the customers’ best interests in mind. As a used vehicle superstore, they know that it is essential to help each customer choose a previously owned vehicle. Purchasing one of their used vehicles has several benefits that make it superior to buying new.
For starters, buying a new vehicle means instant and drastic vehicle depreciation directly after purchase. With Auction Direct USA, their previously-owned inventory affords customers a lower cost and a more stable vehicle value.
With around 800 vehicles to choose from between Auction Direct USA’s Victor and Raleigh locations, there is a healthy mix of makes, models, and types of vehicles available. According to Friedman, 50-60% of people end up buying a different car than they originally planned to buy, simply because there is so much to discover in Auction Direct USA’s inventory.
Auction Direct USA works with each customer to ensure they meet their financial needs and concerns, with many lender options to complement any budget. And customers may take comfort in knowing that purchasing a car through Auction Direct USA means owning it – no need to worry about a lease agreement. The car is yours!
In addition, the superstore keeps current with important market trends. For example, Friedman says Auction Direct USA is on the front line for electric vehicles, with a huge EV selection available. Auction Direct USA also offers electric charging stations on site that are open to the public.
A New Way to Buy a Used Car
Auction Direct USA is in the business of doing good business – they do not hassle customers; they welcome and encourage them to choose the best vehicle to meet their needs. Between the revolutionary one-price concept, a sales team with years of knowledge and expertise, and around 800 vehicles to explore, Auction Direct USA offers a fresh take on used car buying.
They welcome walk-ins and scheduled visits any day of the week. If you have questions, they want to help answer them. Their goal is to empower each customer who walks through their doors, because buying a car is a big decision, and they want you to have all the knowledge and support to make the right decision for you.
Customer-centric to their core, Auction Direct USA is ready to get you on the road.

Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity
Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity believes that everyone deserves a safe and decent place to live, and their convenient local ReStore centers help make that vision a reality. When you shop and donate to your local ReStore Center, you help Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity provide housing and essential items to local families. Proceeds from every purchase at your local ReStore Center fund sustainable housing for those who need it most.
ReStore Centers are located in Canandaigua, Henrietta, and Webster. The Canandaigua location, opened in 2010, recently received the ReStore of the Year Award from Habitat New York State. The Henrietta location opened in 2016, and the newest location at BayTowne Plaza in Webster opened in August 2023,
relocating the Culver Rd ReStore.
Some locals believe you can only shop at a ReStore location if you are low-income, but that is not the case. When you shop at a ReStore, you help Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity carry out its important mission to help the community’s most vulnerable gain independence.
Nash Bock, Greater Rochester HFH Chief Business and Innovation Officer explains, “All the proceeds from ReStore help fund home building and programs that further Habitat’s mission, allowing more hard-working families the opportunity to purchase and own a home they can afford. Many people think we give houses away, but the truth is that we partner with families to prove a hand-up, not a hand-out, and families work alongside our volunteers and purchase their home with an affordable mortgage.”
You never know what you might discover at your local ReStore center. Each ReStore offers a variety of items, including appliances, furniture, household décor, antiques, and so much more. The joy of recycling, reusing, or repurposing previously used items and providing a new home is key to ReStore. ReStore has many generous benefactors who donate new items throughout the year, but they rely on community donations as well.
Through creativity, heart, and volunteerism, Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity ReStores have been making dreams come true. Many Rochesterians have benefited from their programs and/or helped strangers get back on their feet. If you would like to volunteer, donate, or learn more, visit www.grhabitat.org/restore.

Advent Automotive
Trustworthy Excellence in Auto Repair
In the heart of Upstate New York, Advent Automotive has been serving the community with unwavering dedication and expertise for nearly 25 years. Joe Bevaqua and Michael Callaraman are the driving forces behind Advent Automotive, a name synonymous with reliability, honesty, and exceptional automotive care. With a journey that started from a passion for “hot rods” in his youth, Joe has built a reputable establishment that stands out for its customer-centric approach and commitment to quality.
As owner and founder of Advent Automotive, Joe and Mike’s story is one of self-taught expertise and unyielding dedication. Fondly recalling his automotive beginnings at the age of 15, Joe has seen it all – from tearing his parents’ cars apart to mastering the art of auto mechanics through a Boy Scouts Explorer Program. From there, he climbed the ladder within a sponsoring company, transitioning from auto mechanic to Assistant Manager and finally to Manager. At the cusp of his late 30s, Joe ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship, creating Advent Automotive.
What sets Advent Automotive apart is its distinctive approach to business. Unlike many in the industry, Joe and Mike’s business operates on an hourly basis rather than commission-driven models. This ensures that every repair is prioritized based on necessity, eliminating any incentive for unnecessary services. With a bustling parking lot filled with cars and trucks in need of care, Advent Automotive handles an impressive average of 35-40 vehicles each day. The overwhelming demand led to the establishment of a second repair shop, expanding their service to the community.
Upstate New York’s harsh winters and salt-ridden
roads present unique challenges for auto repair. Yet, Joe’s team thrives in this adversity, addressing rusted springs, deteriorated shock absorbers, warped brake rotors, and more. For Advent Automotive, tackling these challenges is a testament to their expertise, and they’re up for the task.
At the heart of Advent Automotive’s success lies the cornerstone of customer trust. Joe’s proudest moments come when a customer places their faith in the business, dropping their keys on the counter with the assurance that their vehicle is in capable hands. This trust is earned through a commitment to integrity, as Joe, Mike, and their team approach every job with honesty and a dedication to genuine work.
Looking to the future, Joe and Mike’s ambitions remain unwavering. With a team of eleven dedicated employees, he envisions passing the torch to their sons and business partners, ensuring the legacy of Advent Automotive lives on for generations to come. Joe humorously contemplates scaling down his own role in the business, quipping that he might reduce his workload to “three days per week until he is about 90.”
Advent is more than just a repair shop; it’s an integral part of the community. Through sponsorships and partnerships with local events, schools, and emergency services, their business gives back to the community that supports it. From Log Days in Farmington/Victor to Cobblestone Performing Arts Center, from hockey to baseball teams, Advent Automotive is there, offering a helping hand. Advent also helps repair and maintain Farmington Ambulance, and Victor and Farmington Fire Department vehicles.
Advent Automotive is all about trust and assistance. Joe says, “We come to work every day not knowing what work is going to show up, besides what’s scheduled … and we try to help everyone we can if it’s possible to do it.” From its humble beginnings rooted in passion to its present status as a pillar of trust and reliability, Advent Automotive is a testament to the power of commitment, expertise, and community spirit.

Ontario County Chamber of Commerce
The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce proudly serves more than 700 businesses in the region, including the Victor and Farmington communities. A full year into the rebrand of OnChamber, they continue to find ways to deliver value to their membership, beginning with listening to member needs.
Their county-wide approach uniquely positions OnChamber to collaborate with and support local chambers of commerce and municipal economic development activities. They support local companies with growth resources like on-site business planning assistance, influencer meetings and networking mixers, ribbon cuttings, educational resources, visibility in their lifestyle magazine OnCanandaigua, and access to healthcare and other benefit packages. They regularly collect business community input on economic development and public policy issues to inform local and state decision making.
Understanding member needs and aspirations is critical, which is why they’ve begun a regular survey process. These periodic “check-ins” and event post-mortems ensure they optimize the value to each member, sponsor, and partner. Their 113 and Megaphone email communications allow members to spread the word about their business, events, or other news.
The OnChamber hosts signature events such as their annual Neo Classic Golf Tournament, The Q Annual Meeting, Business Achievement Awards, and ATHENA Awards, recognizing local women business leaders. They hosted New York State Senator Pam Helming (R-54) for the 2023 State of the State breakfast at Fort Hill Performing Arts Center this past spring. They will host the program again in 2024 as they reintroduce their State of Municipalities event spotlighting local government leadership and issues that define the community.
The Ontario County Chamber has experienced a lot of growth and change this year, including beginning a search for a new president to lead the organization into its next phase of service. Following a multi-year strategic planning process that included member and community input into the chamber’s future direction, the board pursues a greater economic development and public policy role for the organization, consistent with their mission to drive economic prosperity in the Finger Lakes region. They anticipate providing greater resources for smaller companies while partnering with local government to retain, grow, and recruit new business investment.
The Finger Lakes’ natural beauty is a handsome backdrop for memories of all kinds - business startups, destination weddings, raising families, enjoying vacations, attending college, building a career, or enjoying an active retirement. Whether you’re new to the area or a lifetime resident, they’re happy to help you get the most out of your time in Canandaigua and Ontario County. Join them at www.onchamber.com.

Victor Community Development Office
Where we are now...2023
The closure of the Victor Chamber of Commerce did not change the need to coordinate the business resources under one umbrella – VCDO. The concept of the VCDO was still relevant and necessary in order to provide that one-stop shop concept to local businesses. We feel that by combining these agencies under one umbrella, we will be able to offer enhanced streamlined services to Victor businesses and elevate Victor’s competitive advantage in attracting and retaining businesses. Now more than ever it is imperative to Victor’s future that we stop working in silos and combine efforts to be successful.
So, what is under the umbrella?
Victor Economic Development Department –resides within the Town Hall at 85 East Main Street. It provides support to businesses through relocation assistance and connections with Town departments. It assists with grant administration and various town projects, as well.
We are an umbrella agency consisting of Economic Development, Victor LDC, Reimagine Victor and Community Events that serves as a one-stop shop for business resources.
Mission: To be the catalyst for a successful, strong, and thriving community.
Vision: Promote and lead local businesses through our innovative partnership created to be a single resource for business support.
How we got here…
The pandemic brought about change to our lives at home, work and in our businesses. As difficult as it was, there were some positive changes that arose as well as opportunities!
For many years now the Victor community has had four agencies working to support business: Victor Local Development, Economic Development Department, Victor Chamber of Commerce, and the Victor Business Connection. While we are fortunate to have these entities available to provide business support, there is often duplication of and, most of all, confusion amongst businesses regarding services provided. It became a marketing nightmare to promote all of these entities and communicate effectively where businesses turn for resources.
In 2021, the Victor Chamber of Commerce ceased operation due to financial issues and worked with the Ontario County Chamber to begin servicing Victor Businesses. The VCDO is in communication with that agency regarding Victor and Ontario County activities.
Victor Local Development Corporation –resides within the Town Hall – stand-alone 501c4 agency managed by a board of directors. Its focus is on Main Street Revitalization, financial resources for businesses, recognizing local business achievements, and general support for small businesses.
Reimagine Victor – a grassroots group of business owners, residents and Town/Village staff that came together to move Victor forward with new ideas and initiatives. The group is focused on beautification, wayfinding, connecting trail users to businesses, quality of life amenities for residents and initiatives that support business.
Community Events – We coordinate community events that showcase local businesses and attract residents and visitors. You can find the updated events calendar at www.victorny.org – community events calendar at the bottom of the home page.

The Chamber’s ever-popular Farmington Farm Market, hosted by local business owner and Chamber Board Member, Karen Brake, is held weekly June through August next to Mrs. Brake’s Spices on State Route 332 in the Post Office plaza across from the state trooper barracks. Bringing the community together each week with its delicious, locally grown produce, the farm market also features giveaways and treats. The last Friday of each month, enter to win a bag of goodies from each vendor at the Market.
Each September, the Farmington Chamber of Commerce joins AMVETS Post 332 for its annual Veterans Helping Veterans Golf Tournament. Funds raised help support veterans programs and events in the community. Thank you to the many generous participants who make this annual event a success.

Victor Views Assisted Living (a Poole Senior Living Home), LLC believes that seniors deserve the highest quality of care and the opportunity to continue living in a home-like environment. Owned by Zack and Alyssa Poole, their small home model with a license for only 12 residents stands out from other assisted living facilities in the market.
Zack oversees the overall operations, human resources, and financial aspects of the business, while Alyssa ensures day-to-day operations within the home run smoothly. The Pooles embarked on this journey
in August 2021, fueled by Alyssa’s vision to create a different and more personalized approach.
What sets them apart is their commitment to providing individualized care. Poole maintains a remarkable staffto-resident ratio of 1:5-6, ensuring that each resident receives the attention and support they need. Their goal is to create a family-like atmosphere, where their staff goes beyond caregiving to form personal relationships with the residents and their families.
Alyssa says the most rewarding aspect of working at Poole Senior Living is developing personal connections with residents and enabling them to engage in activities that bring them joy. This inspires the Pooles and their staff, knowing they are making a significant difference in the lives of their residents and their families.
After years of hard work to obtain their license from the Department of Health and construct the home, opening the doors to their first residents was a milestone that reaffirmed their commitment to serving the community.

Thompson Health
Meeting Victor & Farmington’s Healthcare Needs
With the Victor-Farmington population continuing to grow, UR Medicine Thompson Health’s presence is growing right along with it as the health system keeps pace to meet the community’s needs.
On August 7, Thompson opened the doors to its new Farmington Medical Group. Located at 1614 Route 332, just north of Cobblestone Arts Center and across the street from the New York State Police barracks, this facility brings together Farmington Family Medicine and the Farmington location of Thompson’s OB-GYN practice.
Previously, the former was located on Route 96 and the latter on Corporate Drive. Both are excited to have new space in which to expand. Encompassing 10,000 square feet, the building has 17 exam rooms, a lactation room for breastfeeding mothers, and on-site OB/GYN ultrasound.
With Dr. Morgan Paul, Dr. Katherine Rast, and Family Nurse Practitioner Ashley Manning, Farmington Family Medicine offers newborn care, pediatrics, and adult medicine as well as women’s health. All three providers are accepting new patients.
The OB/GYN practice has Dr. Jillian Babu, Physician Assistant Morgan Bessey, and Certified Nurse-Midwife Shannon Welker. Welker is accepting new patients, and Dr. Babu is accepting new patients for surgical consults only.
“In this beautiful, larger space, we have expanded the number of providers and also the services we offer, laying the foundation for even more growth in the future,” said Thompson Health Executive Vice President / COO Kurt Koczent.
Visit ThompsonHealth.com/FMG for more information on both the family medicine and OB-GYN practices, including full provider bios.
Just five weeks after Thompson’s Farmington Medical Group opened, the health system’s Thompson Medical
Center on Corporate Drive welcomed new primary care physicians. Drs. Wilfredo J. Cruz and Dr. Reihaneh Derafsh are both internists who now have an office in the building. The building also houses Pediatrics, Thompson’s Farmington Urgent Care, Farmington Rehabilitation Services, and HealthWorks. The latter is Thompson’s occupational medicine program, which provides workplace health services to employers throughout the Finger Lakes region.
The new practice with Drs. Cruz and Derafsh is called CMG Internal Medicine, Farmington, and it serves as a satellite of Thompson’s Canandaigua Medical Group Internal Medicine. Both doctors are accepting new patients; call 585-393-2811 for more information.
To the west, in Victor, Thompson has three locations:
• Located at 53 West Main Street, Victor Family Practice offers newborn care, pediatrics, adult medicine, and women’s health. The staff includes Drs. John Sharza, John McGuire, Sumaiya Kabir, and Brogan Schoeneman, along with Physician Assistant Jennifer Mead-Samuels. For information, call 585-924-0690.
• Also at 53 West Main Street is the Victor location of Thompson’s Canandaigua Medical Group OB/ GYN practice, with Drs. Alexis Pilato and Laura K. Price. Both are experienced in performing gynecologic surgeries, and both are accepting new patients. For information, call 585-978-8235.
• UR Medicine Thompson Health Physical Rehabilitation Services at 7670 Omnitech Place just off Route 96 offers treatment for orthopaedic injuries, hand therapy, post-surgical rehabilitation, preventative exercise programs, and sportsrelated injuries. Bates Family Law
Divorce can be an overwhelming and challenging process, filled with uncertainty and endless questions. In times like these, having a reliable and empathetic legal team by your side can make all the difference. That’s where Bates Family Law comes in. With their streamlined approach, Alison Bates, a dedicated family law attorney, and her husband, Jeff Egburtson, a professional divorce mediator, provide couples in the Rochester area with an efficient and economical solution.
Experience matters when it comes to divorce and family law cases, and Alison Bates has an impressive track record. As one of the most sought-after Rochester divorce attorneys, she has represented thousands of clients in contested and uncontested divorces, child custody matters, and child support cases. Bates Family Law also offers Divorce Mediation, providing couples the opportunity to work together and reach an amicable resolution while saving them money.
While most cases are settled outside the courtroom, Bates Family Law boasts over a decade of trial experience in the Rochester area. This experience is invaluable, enabling them to make informed decisions about when
to compromise and when to push negotiation points to court. Additionally, they maintain close relationships with other professionals, collaborating with experienced financial advisors, business evaluators, and accountants to provide clients with comprehensive solutions.
What sets Bates Family Law apart is their shared commitment to their clients’ best interests. In their respective roles at the practice, Alison and Jeff’s goals emphasize the importance of communication and setting aside egos. They value introspection and actively listen to their clients’ concerns, recognizing the emotional turmoil that naturally accompanies divorce. By creating a safe and supportive environment, they help their clients feel understood, validated, and guided through the process with clarity and compassion.
One of Bates Family Law’s distinguishing features is their exceptional communication. They understand the frustration of unanswered emails and phone calls during such a sensitive time. That’s why they prioritize timely responses, typically within a few hours. Being exceptional communicators ensures clients are always informed and supported.
At the heart of their practice is a genuine passion for helping people. Alison and Jeff understand that divorce is often the lowest point in someone’s life, marked by uncertainty, sadness, anger, and fear. They provide a safe space for their clients to express their feelings without judgment, offering clarity, compassion, and support to alleviate their grief and sense of loss.
Education is also a key focus for Bates Family Law. They strive to educate individuals about the alternatives to traditional litigated divorce: mediation and uncontested divorce. Both options are faster, less stressful, and more cost-effective than hiring separate attorneys. Check out their website for blog posts on this topic.
The impact of your case on your quality of life and that of your children cannot be overstated. Bates Family Law takes a holistic approach, considering short- and long-term outcomes and carefully assessing options. They understand that navigating family changes can be an emotional process and provide a highly personal, compassionate approach to support you during this challenging time.
Bates Family Law is a team effort, supported by dedicated professionals, paralegal, Tiffany, and office manager, Laura, as well as Jolene, the lovable canine who heads the welcoming committee!
