Gutter Cleaning - A Very Dirty Process The process of cleaning gutters appears to be a dull and dirty process. However, gutters need enough attention to avoid damage caused to roof, walls and foundation because of overflowing water. Gutters form passage for rain water and falling leaves to pass to the ground level from your roof. If cleaning of gutters is neglected for a long period of time, it may affect the flow of water and induce water logging problem in the house. The clogged gutters may even freeze during winters causing further damage to gutter pipes which is even difficult to repair.

Why is it important to clean and maintain gutter? The reason why cleaning gutters is important is clogging can get dangerous for your house for the following reasons:   

Rot: Due to clogging in the pipes and gutters water gets retained and moisture affects the roof and pipes causing them to rot. This may be harder to replace or repair. Leaking and cracked roof, walls or foundation: Clogged gutters are the major reason for leaking water problems. Excess water leakage can cause the walls and foundation to lose their strength, and get cracked. Pests and insects: Pests and insects are like termites and mosquitoes that make their home in damp and moist spaces. Thus the most affected areas are roof and gutters which eventually affects the foundation and wood used in construction also affecting health of the inmates.

Once the pipes are affected by rot, moss or pests, gutter repair can be really an expensive task to carry. Hence, it is important for the household and industrial owners to maintain cleanliness of gutters and schedule a cleaning at least once a month.
