“Soy Mar de Redin, granadina, tengo el estudio en el barrio del Realejo. Estudié mi diplomatura de diseño de moda en Madrid. Me crié en un camping descalza y sin horario. Ya con 3 años en la guardería fui a hablar con la directora para cambiar los colores de las paredes. No tengo color ni música preferida. Adoro las películas animadas. Me pierde el chocolate y el té negro con leche. Necesito vivir cerca del mar. Me gustan las sorpresas. Y soy inmensamente feliz el día de mi cumpleaños. Navideña hasta en agosto. Demasiado sincera y mi humor es un poco extraño. Me inspiran: el mar de William Turner, las perspectivas de Beatrice Alemagna, los colores de Paul Kleen, las flores de Claire Basler y las líneas de Basquiat. Siempre trabajo sobre lino natural con técnicas mixtas, son tapices porque me encanta ver el movimiento. Figurativa por defecto, me fascina la gente. Muy auto exigente con las paletas de color. La costura y los tejidos siempre están reflejados en mis obras.

Mi estilo es contemporáneo figurativo y muy colorista. Siempre sobre bases naturales de lino y sin tratamientos, me encanta ver el movimiento de los tejidos, por este motivo no suelo enmarcar mis obras, las dejo como tapices. Trabajo con técnica mixta, mayormente con acrílicos, a veces juego con pastel, grafitos, sprays... sin olvidarme de la purpurina. Son tapices contemporáneos llenos de color con grandes personajes de expresiones exageradas y extremidades infinitas, con apliques de tejidos cosidos a mano, influenciado por el mundo de la moda, que fue mi cuna artística. Todo ello aderezado con muchas flores, flores en recuerdo de la abuela Avelina, mejor herencia imposible. Cuando veo mis obras me hacen esbozar una sonrisa, tienen mucha luz, brillos, y colores, son “obras que divierten al corazón”. Me gusta pensar que siempre te va a sorprender, alguna peca, pestaña, rizos, una melena alborotada, esperando a ser descubiertas. Dibujo desde siempre, no tengo recuerdo de mi infancia sin tener las manos manchadas de pintura, una gran sonrisa en la boca y una onza de chocolate en el suelo.”

“I am Mar de Redin, from Granada, I have a studio in the Realejo neighborhood. I studied my degree in fashion design in Madrid. I grew up in a camping barefoot and without schedule. Already with 3 years in the nursery I went to speak with the director to change the colors of the walls. I have no favorite color or music. I love animated movies. I lose chocolate and black tea with milk. I need to live near the sea. I like surprises. And I am immensely happy on my birthday. Christmas until August. Too sincere and my humor is a bit strange. They inspire me: the sea of William Turner, the perspectives of Beatrice Alemagna, the colors of Paul Kleen, the flowers of Claire Basler and the lines of Basquiat. I always work on natural linen with mixed techniques, they are tapestries because I love to see the movement. Figurative by default, people fascinate me. Very self demanding with color palettes. Sewing and fabrics are always reflected in my works.

My style is contemporary figurative and very colorful. Always on natural linen bases and without treatments, I love to see the movement of fabrics, for this reason I do not usually frame my works, I leave them as tapestries. I work with mixed media, mostly acrylics, sometimes I play with pastels, graphite, sprays... without forgetting glitter. They are contemporary tapestries full of color with great characters with exaggerated expressions and infinite extremities, with appliques of hand-sewn fabrics, influenced by the world of fashion, which was my artistic cradle. All this garnished with many flowers, flowers in memory of Grandma Avelina, a better inheritance impossible. When I see my works they make me smile, they have a lot of light, brightness, and colors, they are “works that amuse the heart”. I like to think that it will always surprise you, some freckle, eyelash, curls, a tousled mane, waiting to be discovered. I have always drawn, I have no memory of my childhood without having my hands stained with paint, a big smile on my face and an ounce of chocolate on the floor.”
