A Northeast native and award-winning interior designer, Linda has been a Naples resident for over 28 years. Earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Delaware, Linda went on to become an active real estate agent in Naples in 1998.
Her extensive career spans from the advertising and sports marketing world where, among highlights, she worked for the National Football League for 7 years and later, was on the road as a Tournament Director for the senior men’s professional Nuveen Tour featuring John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors.
In addition, Linda has an active interior design business, Linda Sonders Design. Her travels have taken her to over 55 countries and counting, always in search of mountains to climb and reefs to dive, and has lived for a year each in Paris and London. With her husband, Ed Calkins, she splits her time between Naples and Colorado.
Linda has the distinction of selling many of the highest priced (at the time) properties in Naples including non-waterfront single family home in Old Naples, waterfront lot in Aqualane Shores and non-waterfront lot in Coquina Sands.
A strong believer in giving back to the community in which she lives, Linda is a supporter of various Collier County charities for at-risk youth. She was an original Guild fundraising member of the Golisano Children’s Museum here in Naples, proudly supports the Winged Foot Scholorship Foundation, and is on the sponsorship committ e of the Women’s Foundation of Collier County. She and her family also are involved in rhinoceros conservation initiatives in Kenya and Zimbabwe, Africa. Additionally, she is a current member of Royal Poinciana Golf Club.
The proud parent of an 18-year old daughter attending Princeton University, and 17-year-old son attending The Lawrenceville School, (both lacrosse players), plus two large English Labs - Harper and Phoebe, she doesn’t have much down time. When she’s not attending to her children’s non-stop sports schedules, Linda enjoys skiing, hiking, travel, golf and pickleball.
