Established in 1933, Guild Care is Wor thing’s leading social care charity, suppor ting over 3000 people ever y year through our diverse range of community ser vices and care homes.

Our vision is for all people in need of care to live fulfilling, safe and secure lives, which we will achieve by ensuring our suppor t and ser vices are accessible, effective and lovingly delivered. As a charity, our aim is to reduce social isolation and social stigma, and we believe that nobody should feel isolated.

Creating Connections

Creating Connections is a warm and welcoming ser vice for people aged 65 and over living in Wor thing. The ser vice aims to suppor t people to remain independent in their own homes and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, which can have a significant impact on people’s health and wellbeing.

We run a number of activities (many of which are free) for people to enjoy, make new friends and socialise. For those who are less mobile, we can provide transpor t to our sessions.

Creating Connections member

Creating Connections also offers befriending services for people who find it difficult to leave their homes to socialise and meet people. We offer telephone befriending, and a home visiting service with regular visits by a volunteer, to provide companionship and friendship.

We also offer short term, goal-based befriending to provide more 1:1 support to people. This is available to people who have lost confidence after a fall or have poor mobility and need help to socialise, make friends, and engage with their local community.

Dementia day ser vices

Our dementia ser vices are for people in the Wor thing area who are living with dementia, and their families, friends or carers. We aim to break down the stigma of dementia in a friendly, inclusive, and suppor tive environment . We know that carers can often feel isolated and stressed. Our services aim to give carers the chance to recharge their batteries and have some time for themselves, which can lead to improved relationships with loved ones.

Activities include:

• Quizzes and games

• Music and sing-along

• Gardening

• Baking

• Ar ts and crafts

Purpose-built dementia centre

The Haviland House Day Ser vice is held at our purpose-built dementia centre. The centre provides a variety of day ser vices with an extensive and inclusive activity programme. Activities are tailored to our members and include live enter tainment , ar ts and crafts and oppor tunities for reminiscence. We also offer a variety of dementia-friendly social events for carers and their loved ones to come together, some of which are offered free of charge.

Home care ser vices

Home Care

Our Home Care ser vice enables older people and vulnerable adults in Wor thing and the surrounding areas to lead better quality lives, whilst remaining safe and comfor table in their own homes.

Our Home Care ser vice runs seven days a week, providing care and suppor t to people to meet their needs throughout the day. Our caring and professional community care assistants can help with personal care, domestic help, emotional suppor t and general assistance with other tasks, such as shopping, medication, and mobility. We are committed to person-centred care. This ensures that our clients can live independently, whilst feeling connected and avoiding isolation.

Help@Home

Our Help@Home team provides suppor t to independent , vulnerable people who wish to live in the community but need a helping hand. This suppor t includes housework, shopping, and those small tasks that become challenging when not feeling well or dealing with frailty and mobility issues.

Our Help@Home team will make your life easier by doing a range of tasks including:

Suppor t at home ser vices

Our suppor t at home ser vices provide a lifeline to vulnerable and older individuals in the local community. We help people regain confidence and independence after a hospital visit , connect them to other suppor t ser vices, and prevent the need to move into permanent residential care or additional hospital stays.

Take Home and Settle

Take Home and Settle is a free ser vice that provides transpor t to take vulnerable people aged 65 and over home from Wor thing hospital. We assist with unpacking, checking food is still fresh and doing a small shop if required. Additionally, we offer referrals to other suppor t ser vices if needed.

Suppor t at Home after Hospital

Our team suppor t people for up to six weeks following a hospital discharge to regain confidence and independence. This ser vice offers companionship visits, domestic suppor t , shopping, picking up prescriptions and signposting to other ser vices.

A Suppor t at Home after Hospital volunteer can suppor t with a range of tasks including:

• Collecting prescriptions and basic shopping

• Providing information on other ser vices or equipment you might need

• Companionship

• Escor ted walks

• Engaging in local activities

Care homes

Guild Care offers a full range of exper t care tailored to var ying needs across our three care homes. This includes residential care, 24/ 7 nursing as standard, exper t dementia suppor t and palliative care. For couples or individuals, our fully inclusive ser vices adapt to deliver the right level of care wherever our residents are on their journey, providing a forever home for all as needs change.

Each home offers delicious and nutritious food provided by specialist caterers and a wide range of wellbeing activities to suppor t our residents to live well, enjoy life and love ever y day

Caer Gwent

Exper t nursing care with luxur y

residential

Caer Gwent combines superb residential living with 24-hour nursing care and suppor t for individuals with complex health conditions.

Caer Gwent is an elegant care home set in a quiet residential area of Wor thing. The home boasts a beautifully landscaped garden and a piano bar ideal for enter taining friends and family

Many of the rooms open out around the beautiful gardens and are light and spacious with en-suite bathrooms and soft furnishings. The dining rooms and conser vator y are sunny and cheer ful and the TV lounge and librar y offer places to relax and unwind.

Linfield House

Expert nursing care with luxury residential living and dedicated dementia care

Linfield House combines superb residential living with 24-hour exper t nursing care and dedicated dementia suites. The home is situated adjacent to the lovely Victoria Park not far from the centre of Wor thing, offering easy access to shops, the librar y and seafront .

The care home has been designed to a ver y high specification and is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout . It offers generous accommodation including spacious bedrooms, all with accessible en-suite shower facilities, and a range of lounges and dining rooms.

Haviland House

A dedicated dementia care home with exper t nursing care

Haviland House offers dedicated residential and nursing care in a purpose-built environment for people living with dementia. Located just a few miles from Wor thing, in Goring-by-Sea, the care home’s design consists of five households each suited to a par ticular stage of dementia.

The beautiful interior enhances the spaces throughout , offering residents a homely feel. Each household incorporates a dining room, lounge, spacious themed areas and bathing facilities.

There is an indoor, garden-themed lounge which is per fect for activities, and a summer house in the garden that provides great sensor y stimulation.
