Excellence Recognized

Glendale Union High School District (GUHSD) is a beacon of excellence in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Its commitment to student achievement and continuous improvement has earned local and national recognition. The district’s accomplishments extend nationwide, being named the Advanced Placement National District of the Year by the

College Board and consistently listed among America’s Top High Schools by U.S. News & World Report.

Embracing the mission of empowering all students for the choices and challenges of the twenty-first century, GUHSD promotes a community of excellence where parents, students, teachers, and administrators work together.

The outstanding schools in GUHSD prioritize student success, offering comprehensive education while always striving for improvement. In the 2023-2024 school year, GUHSD students earned an impressive $109 million in scholarships and obtained 10,968 college credits through the Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment programs.

MISSION VISION

To empower all students for the choices and challenges of the twenty-first century.

All students will graduate with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in college, career, and life.

Fiscal Responsibility

According to the Auditor General’s Classroom Spending report of 2023, GUHSD demonstrates a higher commitment to investing its funding in classrooms compared to both state and peer district group averages. Furthermore, the report reveals that GUHSD allocates a lower proportion of its funds toward administration in comparison to the state and average figures of other peer districts.

Over the past 34 years, Glendale Union High School District has exemplified responsible fiscal management of taxpayers’ funds, receiving esteemed accolades from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

GUHSD takes great pride in responsibly managing the tax dollars entrusted to them by both the local community and the state. They are committed to using these funds wisely to ensure every student receives the highest quality education. However, in today’s economic environment, state and federal funding alone cannot fully address the educational and safety needs of students. This is why GUHSD is seeking additional funding through a bond override this November. For more information about the bond initiative, please connect to www.guhsdaz.org/elections.
