Aylesbury Music Centre We had a real treat on Tuesday when the staff of Aylesbury Music Centre came in to give us a concert. They played some golden oldies including a wishful ‘Summer Holiday’ and some unusual sounds on the trumpet! It was great fun and I hope it will inspire some young musicians to pick up an instrument. And on a similar ‘note’ the instrumental concert is coming up on Thursday 20 th June so any musicians out therelearning an instrument in or out of school, let Miss Dolman know if you’d like to perform! Letters about this event will go home at the beginning of next half term. Year 5 Production – The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents We are very much looking forward to our Amazing Year 5s and their Wonderful Production today and, if it goes as well as the dress rehearsal, we can expect a superb show. The children have worked tremendously hard and have achieved such a high standard of performance; I know their teachers are very proud of them all. Clubs Well done to all the children who posted their slips in the foyer for next half-term’s clubs. The teachers will contact you before we break up to let you know if you’ve secured your place. Goodbye and Good Luck As you are already aware, we are saying goodbye today to Mrs Prince in the office. On behalf of all the school community, thank you for your hard work and commitment. You will be greatly missed. Mrs Sarah Arnold will also be moving on in June, resigning from her post as school Bursar. Sarah has been the financial back-bone of the school for a number of years, her dedication and expertise have been invaluable to the success of the school. Good luck in your next venture Sarah, we wish you happiness and success in your new role. Julie Hall, the school Bursar at Twyford CofE will be filling Sarah’s post for the Autumn term. She will begin a handover period after the half-term holiday. Parent’s Forum – meeting no.1 – Homework Thursday 6th June 6-7pm. GENERAL NOTICE The PTA really need new parent volunteers (particularly from the Early Years and KS1) to join FroGS and help us to organise events. Many of the existing ‘FroGS Team’ have children in their last couple of years at GUCS, so we really need new members. If you are interested in joining us, please feel free to come along to one of our meetings, as we will be thinking about and planning for the next school year’s calendar, or leave a message with the office or speak to one of the existing FroGS Team (meetings: 6th June or 4th July – venue to be advised) – see the FroGS Notice Board for the current team (Babs Hedgecox can also be contacted by email on barbarasmithson@yahoo.co.uk). Have a wonderful half-term holiday everybody. I’ll see you bright and early on Monday 3 rd June at 8.55am. Pippa
