We teamed up withTakeCare Insurance at AK’s Annual Employee Health Fair. Employees had the chance to answer our Cancer Screening Questionnaire, ask questions, and receive information on all our programs and services.



April 20, 2023
April was our last month for the school-based clinics which was relaunched earlier this year in February. In total, we were set up at six different schools and were able to inoculate over 200 students with the HPV Vaccine. The HPV Vaccine helps deter certain cancers for males and females in the future. This vaccine can be taken as early as 9 years of age up until the age of 26.

Patient & Caregiver Support Group

April 22, 2023
We hosted our first Patient & Caregiver Support Group 2023 Talk Series with guest speaker, Kavita Hemlani-Re. Ms. Kavita is the former Program Manager of the National Family Caregiver Support Program with over 15 years of experience in various facets of healthcare. Her topic of discussion was on Caregivers and the insights she had on this subject from her personal and professional perspectives. A big thank you to Ms. Kavita and all those who were able to attend , making this event a success.
D.L. Perez Elementary School Tobacco & Vape Presentations

During April, our Education Outreach Program Manager, Jessica Rosales, did a series of presentations for the students at D.L. Perez Elementary School on the Harmful Effects of Tobacco & Vape.

Simon Sanchez High School Health Fair

May 4 & 5, 2023
We were invited to Simon Sanchez High School to set up a booth at theirhealth fair.Students hada chanceto walkaround andlook at all the displays from other students and outside organizations. At this event, we spoke with students and passed out information of the free services and programs we have to offer to Guam’s community. One of our tables hada display ofthe Harmful Effects of Tobacco and Vape. Students were given the opportunity to answer questions on what they learned from our displays and were given a free wristband or t-shirt for answering correctly. We were so happy to see students surprised about the information displayed and hope this helps them make good health choices as they enter adulthood.
Guam National Guard Health Fair

The Guam National Guard hosted a health fair for Military Spouse Appreciation. Participants who completed our Cancer Screening Questionnaire received a free wristband in addition to information on all our services and programs that we have to offer Guam’s community.
