Lion’s Club International Health Fair

March 4, 2023

Lion’s Club International hosted a health fair at Micronesia Mall and invited us to be a vendor. Participants completed our Cancer Screening Questionnaire and received information on the screening guidelines, early detection, and the types of services we provide for our community.

Participants filled out our Cancer Screening Questionnaire and received information on screening guidelines,early detection, and the many other services provided by our organization for our community. Vitals were also taken at our second station.

HPV Vaccination & School-Based Immunization Program

March 7, 16, & 22, 2023

Guam Cancer Care in collaboration with Guam Department of Education School Health Counselors, Department of Public Health & Social Service’s Immunization Program, Todu Guam Foundation, Bureau of Women’s Affairs and the Office of the Governor relaunched the HPV Vaccine & School-Based Immunization Program. Okkodo High School, FBLG Middle School, George Washington High School, and Untalan Middle School, had clinics set-up on their campuses for students that needed to update their immunizations.

Bank of Guam: Hagatna City Run & Block Party

We were chosen as the sole beneficiary for the comeback of Bank of Guam’s Hagatna City Run & Block Party. Benefits from this event will support our mission in the fight against cancer within our community.

St. Baldrick’s

March 18, 2023

Guam Cancer Care participated at the St. Baldrick’sEvent hostedby theKUAM Care Force. Participants came out to Guam Premier Outlets (GPO) and showed support by getting their heads shaved by the Guam Community College Cosmetology Program.

Finegayan Elementary School Employee Health Fair

March 29, 2023

Towards the ending of March, we held a Mini Health Fair with our awesome JTF Partners pictured. Faculty and staff had a chance to complete our Cancer Screening Questionnaire, get their vitals read, receive information about hypertension prevention, learn about resources for cancer screening, dental and medical services, and fitness resources.

Southern High School Career Day

March 29, 2023

We were invited to set up a booth at Southern High School’s Career Day event. Students had a chance to ask questions and speak with Nona Perez, our Cancer Outreach Program Manager. Information was shared with students and other attendees about the different programs and services we have available to the island.

We would like to give a special shout out to all of our supporters for the month of March: Bank of Guam, John F. Kennedy High School, and the Agana Full Moon Hash. Thank you for your donations that greatly help with our programs and services provided to Guam’s community.

Judiciary Family Health Fair

April 1, 2023

We partnered up with TakeCare Insurance at the Judiciary Family Health Fair. Employees and family members of the court completed our Cancer Screening Questionnaire and received a Free Join The Fight wristband as well as information on the programs and services we provide, and were encouraged to get screened for early detection.

We were invited to be a vendor at the Island Wide Easter Fair & Egg Hunt at the Dededo Sports Complex. This event was presented by the Department of Parks & Recreation and McDonald’s of Guam. Parents and students (with their parent/ guardian consent) completed our Cancer Screening Questionnairesand got a freeshirt.
