Coordinator of Residential Learning Initiatives General Description: The Coordinator of Residential Learning Initiatives is responsible for the daily management of the Residential Curriculum and Academic initiatives sponsored by University Housing. The Coordinator will partner with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other campus partners through residential curricular strategies and student engagement efforts. The Coordinator will work to support the academic mission of the University through establishing and maintaining departmental initiatives to support academic success for residential students across both residential campuses. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the members of the Residence Education Leadership Team (RELT) and Residence Education staff to accomplish multiple assignments and tasks. This position directly supervises 1-2 graduate assistants and reports to the Assistant Director of Residential Learning. Job Specifications/Qualifications ● Master’s Degree required, ● Two (2) years of professional experience post master’s degree Preferred Qualifications and Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ● Master’s Degree preferred in Higher Education Student Services, Counseling or a Related Field. ● Four (4) years of post-master’s progressive experience in education, curriculum, co-curricular experiences, and assessment and evaluation ● Experience creating and executing large scale events in a university setting. ● A strong desire to work directly with college students. ● Demonstrated skills in the following areas: leadership, supervision, crisis intervention, group dynamics, flexibility, collaboration, fiscal management, risk reduction, co-curricular competencies, student development, academic success & support initiatives, and programming in a residence hall setting. ● Committed to education, celebration of diversity and raising social awareness. ● Ability to move objects up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. Remuneration/Benefits The Coordinator of Residential Learning Initiatives position is a twelve-month position. Salary is $40,200 - $50,300. A state employee benefits package is also included. Additional benefits include: Relocation expenses of up to $500 for eligible expenses, limited meal plan, professional development funds. Duties and Responsibilities A. Residential Curriculum: Specific tasks include: ● Work with the Assistant Director of Residential Learning and Associate Director of Residence Education to identify and prioritize annual residential curriculum efforts for the residential complexes as well as for department-wide initiatives. ● Lead department and campus-wide residential student learning initiatives, specifically large-scale events, pop up programming, and creative engagement strategies. ● Train housing staff on student learning goals, outcomes, strategies, evaluation, and academic interventions. ● Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Residential Learning Communities, housing staff and partners to ensure curricular student success and learning goals are incorporated into annual community plans. ● Ensure curricular student success and learning goals are communicated to campus partners involved in department-wide initiatives. ● Support ongoing needs of the residential curriculum. B. Academic Initiatives: Specific developmental duties include: ● Develop and implement a plan to support the academic success of residential students. ● Support the execution of an annual assessment plan for academic outreach initiatives.
