Short-term payment option available for select programs: participants may pay a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total cost at the time of registration. The remaining balance must be fully paid one month before the course start date. Flexible payment options allow participants to make payments in any amount and frequency that suits them as long as the full balance is settled by the deadline.
This financing option is ideal for students who would like to pay for their program over a longer period of time. We offer a 12 month, equal payment, installment plan – which covers the entire cost of the program and any included materials, less the down payment. Through Georgia Southern University’s new Prior Learning Assessment course, you can discover a faster and more cost effective way to earn college-level credit. Through this self-paced online course, you will learn how to develop a portfolio. Prior Learning Assessment by Portfolio is a process through which students identify areas of relevant learning from their professional and personal experiences, demonstrate that learning through appropriate documentation, and submit their materials for assessment by faculty within the university. Upon approval, students are then awarded academic credit towards their degree, saving them time and money.

All courses taught through CPE must be paid for at the rate established by CPE. CPE is a self-supported unit that has limited participation in formula funding. Therefore, waivers for veterans, university staff, and the State of Georgia do not apply. Program offerings and pricing are subject to change. CPE will:
• Administer and coordinate an organized schedule of Continuing and Professional Education programs, maintain documentation and monitor program quality consistent with CEU category.
• Identify participants who meet the requirements for CEU categories, as required, for satisfactory completion of Continuing & Professional Education programs.
• Maintain a record of participation for each individual to whom CEUs are awarded and provide a transcript to the individual upon request.
• Determination of the number of CEUs for an online course will be determined by any or all of the following: 1) benchmark contact hours from similar courses at other institutions; 2) teach the course face to face once to determine hours; 3) teach online to a pilot group of students and determine the average number of hours to complete the course; 4) use faculty to determine the reasonable number of hours.
CPE students do not receive Eagle ID numbers and are not registered as for-credit students.
Limited student resources will be made available to CPE students, including:
• Parking with visitor’s permit
• Library privileges
• Use of all campus restaurants, bookstore, university center
Unavailable student resources to CPE students include:
• Fitness center
• EagleXpress/Dining Plan
• Non-credit Continuing and Professional Education programs and other special programs are compatible with the institution’s mission and goals.
• The granting of credit or Continuing and Professional Education Units (CEUs) for Continuing & Professional Education courses and special learning activities is: a) guided by generally accepted norms; b) based on institutional mission and policy; c) consistent across the institution, wherever offered and however delivered; d) appropriate to the objectives of the course; and e) determined by student achievement of identified learning outcomes.
• In addition to undergraduate and graduate programs offered at Georgia Southern University, CPE courses and programs will be offered to the public in accordance with the institution’s mission and strategic plan.
• CPE instruction may be offered by a variety of delivery methods including blended, face-to-face, and online and in a variety of settings as is consistent with best educational practices.
• Credit type such as non-credit, CEUs, contact hours, etc. will be determined during course and program development and with regards to accreditation and subject-specific requirements.
Continuing Education Units
What are Continuing Education Units?
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are nationally recognized units of achievement that are used as evidence of increased technical competence. You earn one CEU for every 10 hours of class.
Participants who successfully complete certain Continuing Education courses, such as professional development courses, will earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools defines a CEU as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized educational experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. Georgia Southern University CEUs offered via the Division of Continuing and Professional Education may be used as evidence of career development and to support job enhancement.
What is a certificate of completion?
Most of our professional courses and conferences provide a certified Georgia Southern University document that serves as proof that you completed the course material.
How do I obtain a transcript to prove I took a Division of Continuing and Professional Education course? You may request a Division of Continuing and Professional Education course transcript by calling 912-478-5551. Be prepared to provide your contact information before the transcript(s) can be mailed.
Will the Division of Continuing and Professional Education courses appear on my college transcript? No. Non-credit programs are not added to your official Georgia Southern University transcript.
Can I transfer the credits I earn through the Division of Continuing and Professional Education toward a degree at Georgia Southern University? At this time, all of our programs are non-credit. They can not be applied toward completing a credited degree program.

How do I fix an error in, or update, my registration?
There are three ways to modify your registration. For each, you will need to refer to the Registration Confirmation email that you received shortly after registering.
Option 1
Navigate to the registration home page.
Click Already Registered? in the bottom right of your screen. You will be prompted to enter your email address and confirmation number, which can be found in on your Registration Confirmation Email.
Option 2
Refer to your Registration Confirmation Email.
Find the “To view or modify your registration, please click here,” section. After clicking the link, you will be prompted to enter your confirmation number, which can be found at the beginning of your email.

How do I request an invoice?
After registering on our registration system, if you require an invoice, please contact Registrations by email at ce-registrations@georgiasouthern.edu or call 912-478-5551. If your event is within the next 30 days, this option may not be available due to the time constraints of processing your payment.
Can you send a copy of the invoice to my accounts payable department?
After registering in our registration system, please send us an email at ce-registrations@georgiasouthern.edu with the name and contact information of the person you would like to receive the invoice and we will make sure they receive it. If your event is within the next 30 days, this option may not be available due to the time constraints of processing your payment.
Can I get HOPE Scholarship funding for Continuing Education courses?
HOPE is intended to fund credit-bearing courses. The Division of Continuing and Professional Education courses are non-credit bearing. You may find out more about the HOPE Scholarship by visiting www.gafutures.org.
I would like to register and pay with a credit card. Which cards do you accept?
The Division of Continuing and Professional Education is only authorized to accept credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Please note: A 2.75% convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card payments to offset the processing fee the Division must pay to the credit card processor. Alternative payment methods are available to avoid a convenience fee.
What options do I have other than credit cards for payment?
If you are affiliated with Georgia Southern University and are paying for a registration using department funds, please send the name associated with the registration, the amount, and the Speed Chart number to ce-accounting@ georgiasouthern.edu for processing.

If the payment deadline has passed, the registrant’s rates will be adjusted according to rate changes by dates listed on the event’s detail page. How do I pay for registrants at more than one institution?

I can’t make it to the event. Is it possible to receive a refund?
