Benefits of summer camp If you’re a former camper, you know firsthand the positive effects of the camp experience. However, if you’ve never had the opportunity to attend camp as a child, you may be wondering exactly what the benefits of camping are, and what your child will gain from the experience. Here are the top ten most important reasons to send your child to camp.

At camp, children: l Make true friends l Explore nature l Learn social skills l Enjoy free time l Gain independence

l Develop lifelong skills l Unplug from technology l Gain resiliency l Experience success l Spend their day being physically active

We think one of the biggest takeaways from a summer camp experience is the chance girls have to build resilience—which is needed now more than ever. Resilience is learned and developed from facing setbacks and challenges that girls face in nature. Having the tools to learn from these challenges are essential in gaining character, confidence, and courage—characteristics that are essential to being a G.I.R.L. in today’s world.

Camp blue bay Features l Platform tents with cots l 8 tents to a unit supervised by 4 to 5 counselors in 2 tents l Modern indoor bathrooms l Or live dormitory style in Troop Houses l Girs are housed in 2 rooms with bathrooms and common area,

supervised by 3 to 4 counselors in 2 rooms l On-site Director l Minimum ratio of 8 girls to one adult, exceeding NY State standards l Be sure to check our website at gsnc.org for up-to-date information on accomodation capacities and COVID-19 Guidelines.
