News 2 - Issue 3

The International Conference on Approximation and Potential Theory was held on the Armstrong campus of Georgia Southern September 22-24, 2023. The conference is supported by the NSF grant and the department of mathematics GSU. The organizers were:

• Alex Stokolos, Georgia Southern University

• Alexander Reznikov, Florida State University

• Oleksandr Vlasiuk, Vanderbilt University

• Emil Iacob, Georgia Southern University

• Dawit Denu, Georgia Southern University

• Duc Huynh, Georgia Southern University

There were about 40 participants, among them 17 invited lecturers and 16 contributed speakers, among which four of GSU math graduates . It was a very successful event, everyone was happy. The most well-known participant is Dr. Edward Saff, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics, Director, Center for Constructive Approximation, Vanderbilt University. He wrote in a recent e-mail, "I want to thank you again for organizing such an enjoyable and informative meeting." The conference is truly international, we had speakers from Italy, France, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Ukraine, USA.
