• SFC Kevin Hoffman was recognized as Hero of the Game for the Salute to Service football game on September 30. He was also nominated today by our Cadre and Staff as this month's Eagle Battalion Hero of the Battlefield. In addition to over 22 years of Service to the Georgia Army National Guard, SFC Hoffman is assigned to the Georgia Southern ROTC National Guard Detachment, where he oversees the training of nearly 100 soldiers who are simultaneously serving in the Guard and are members of ROTC. He is an incredible mentor for our Cadets and goes out of his way daily to assist Cadets in need. Additionally, he has implemented a workout group to assist Cadets with working out and developing healthy habits. These Cadets have undergone some amazing transformations to make height/weight, gain muscle, consistently increase ACFT scores, and help mentor one another. Anyone who knows him knows that "it's about the soldiers to the left and right of you."

• On Saturday, the Eagle Battalion invited high schools spanning from Savannah to Augusta for an overview of ROTC, demonstrations by Cadets and active duty units from Ft. Stewart, a tour of campus, and the evening's football game. During this event, 35 Cadets were sworn in as contracted Cadets.
