What's Happening in COSM? - Issue 31

Last week, Dr. John Allen, a 2007 alumnus, gave a talk to pre-med students in the EagleMed program on the Statesboro Campus.

Dr. John Allen is a general and bariatric surgeon with East Georgia Medical and Surgical Associates and Cedar Surgical Associates. He is a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the medical staff at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, having joined both the medical group and the hospital in late August.

Dr. Allen completed his fellowship in advanced gastroenterology, minimally invasive, and bariatric surgery at the University of South Carolina in Greenville, SC, and his general surgery residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. He earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah and graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
