Gold Award Girl Scouts Change the World
Gold Award Girl Scouts are change-makers. They have changed the world, changed their lives, and earned the most prestigious award in Girl Scouting.
To earn the Gold Award, a Girl Scout identifies an issue in their community, drafts a plan to address a root cause, and leads a team of volunteers to implement it. When the project is complete, the Gold Award Girl Scout and their team have made a sustainable impact on the world that continues to last beyond their involvement.
It’s a huge accomplishment that also impacts the Gold Award Girl Scout as a person. How they see the world—and how the world sees them—is forever changed. It’s also a credential that will be with them for the rest of their life; having the Girl Scout Gold Award on a high school transcript or resumé can make a Girl Scout stand out when it comes to college admissions, scholarship applications, internships, and job interviews.
Girl Scout Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God* and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Amber Cooke Town of Middletown
In partnership with the Town of Middletown, Amber installed mile markers to establish two distinct trails at Charles E. Price Memorial Park and a new informational board with an updated color map of the park, health benefits of staying active, and the importance of Charles E. Price to the history of Middletown.
Emilia D’Antonio Mats for a Purpose
Emilia provided the local homeless population with lightweight, waterproof and transportable mats made solely of recycled materials, hoping it would provide them with a dry, clean place to sleep. She also taught members of her community how to make “plarn”, which is used to weave the plastic sleeping mats on a loom, and created Youtube and TikTok videos to help spread the word.
Audrey Lang Teackle Mansion Tour Activities
In order to make The Teackle Mansion a more family-friendly attraction, Audrey created haversacks/reticules with fun, informational packs that children can use as they complete the tour. The packs teach them about the mansion’s history and about life in the time of the manion’s heyday.
Corin Roth Junior Band Camp
Corin created a video to introduce freshman and incoming high school students about the basics of marching band and the benefits of becoming a member of the marching band and other activities such as scouting, sports and a variety of clubs.
Wellesley White One-Handed Kayaking
Wellesley made GSCB’s waterfront sports more accessible by working with Team River Runner, a national organization that works with disabled veterans, to bring an adaptive kayak program to Camp Grove Point. She created a training video and hard copy pamphlet to teach camp counselors and Girl Scout volunteers how to safely and properly use the adaptive kayaking equipment.
