Why choose Girl Scout camp? Girl Scout camp creates a lasting impact. Girl Scouts will remember the big moments - trying new things (like being away from home for the first time), leaving their comfort zone behind with our friendly and supportive camp staff cheering them on, and forging lifelong friendships. They will reflect on the small moments, too, like learning to appreciate the serenity of nature, loud laughs (the ones that come from your belly), and the tune of a familiar campfire song. At Girl Scouts, we’ve been creating amazing outdoor experiences for girls for over 100 years, so you can rest easy knowing we have your Girl Scout’s back as she soars to new heights this summer.

Girl Scouts!

84% of girls surveyed agreed with the statement “I have done outdoor activities through Girl Scouts that I would not have done otherwise.”

68% of girls surveyed agreed with the statement “Doing outdoor activities in Girl Scouts has helped me overcome at least one fear.”

We have found that Girl Scouts are sometimes unaware of the reality of spending a week at camp. New experiences can be challenging at first, but most campers adapt quickly.

Check in with yourself or your Girl Scout before signing up:

• Are you comfortable spending a week away from home without regular contact from caregivers?

• Can you handle being around wildlife, including bugs and insects (within reason)?

• Can you sleep or go long periods of time without air conditioning?

• If you are able, are you willing to walk from activity to activity?

• Can you be responsible for your own things?

• Are you open to trying new foods?
