Whether it’s the excitement of your first-time round of Freezing Frogs at Camp Ehawee, the joy of exploring birds and bugs at Camp Brandenburg, or the thrill of angling in the waters with StreamGIRL, to becoming a citizen scientist protecting wetlands with the International Crane Foundation—each summer escapade is crafted to foster your natural Girl Scout ‘I’ve got this!’ attitude. These activities are designed to boost your confidence, encouraging you to reach for the stars. So, get outside, Girl Scout, and witness the magic of nature this summer!
Here’s What’s Happening This Summer. RESIDENT CAMP IS AT CAMP EHAWEE Five night and three night sessions are available. • Five night sessions are for campers completing grades 3 and up; these are Olympic themed (page 9). • Three night sessions, Mini Resident Camps, are for campers completing grades 1-4 with all traditional camp activities (page 12). • Horse Camps are five night sessions and will include offsite horse stables and lots of ‘at-camp’ time with traditional activities. For campers completing grades 3 and up (page 9).
HIGH ADVENTURE CAMPS AT CAMP EHAWEE • Base camp is Ehawee but these campers will experience the THRILL of bigger and challenging adventures. Pick from land or water excursions. For campers completing grades 5-11 (page 11).
DAY CAMP AT CAMP BRANDENBURG • Four days at camp? You bet! These sessions are for Brownies and Juniors who will earn Outdoor and STEM badges exploring nature, canoeing, and target sports. For campers completing grades 1-4 (page 13).

LEADERSHIP CAMPS AT CAMP EHAWEE • Girl Scouts in grades 8 and up can become Counselors-inTraining this summer! It’s an application-based program and highly competitive. This is where outdoor leadership skills begin. Note: Program Aide Training is not available this summer at camp; this program is being revamped and will be offered later in the year (page 15).

SUMMERTIME PROPERTY RESERVATIONS AT CAMP BRANDENBURG • Badgerland’s Camp Brandenburg is available for property rentals all summer long. Instead of Badgerland-hosted troop and family camps, the property is being opened for troops and service units to use on their schedule. All the programming will be delivered by the troop or the service unit. This provides opportunities for Girl Scout communities to come to camp on their own time to enjoy the outdoor and indoor summertime activities the troop wants (page 20).
COMMUNITY PARTNERS & PATCH CHALLENGES! • Beyond the traditional offerings at camps Ehawee and Brandenburg are so many outdoor experiences for you. Our Discovery Depot and Girl Scouts on the Move activities and more are hosted by partners on-location for expert insider learning and discoveries. Ehawee (pronounced E-How-E) is the host for our longer 5-night camps, as well as some shorter overnighters and all Leadership and Horse camps. Our camps adhere to the highest standards, meeting the health, safety, program, and personnel criteria set by federal, state, and local governments, as well as those established by Girl Scouts of the USA. Camp Ehawee proudly holds accreditation from the American Camp Association (ACA), a national organization and industry leader that sets rigorous standards for the health and safety of campers and staff, as well as the delivery of quality programs.
Brandenburg is the site for the four-day, noovernight Brownie and Junior day camps, along with troop camp rentals. It features a new slingshot target range, a recently installed orienteering course, geocaching activities, lake canoeing, and adventurous hikes through the forest. Please note that transportation to and from Brandenburg is on your own.
Campers have the option to stay in the lodge or cabins, with amenities including a spacious amphitheater, nature and art center, canoeing slough, archery range, hiking trails, and a swimming pool.

HORSIN’ AROUND Camp Ehawee Saddle up for the return of Horse Camp at Camp Ehawee! Grab your boots and cowgirl hat for two days of horsecentric adventures. Immerse yourself in learning about horses and enjoy ample riding time. The remaining days will be filled with classic camp activities at Camp Ehawee, including target sports and canoeing. WATER EXPLORER Camp Ehawee Get ready to paddle your way through the Water Explorer Camp! You will embark on a two-day trip exploring the Black River and Kickapoo for canoeing adventures. We will even have lunch on the sandbars and take note of all the nature we see along the way. C-I-T 1 Camp Ehawee If you’re a senior and eager to embark on the journey of becoming the best Camp Counselor, then this session is tailored just for you. Our leadership progression begins in high school with the CIT 1 program. Throughout this week, you’ll engage in hands-on learning about leadership and camper support. By the end, you’ll gain a stronger sense of self and valuable tools in your toolbox for effective camper management. Plus, you’ll get to participate in all the exciting camp activities.

In order to put out that fire, save the patient, and solve the crime you, will need to work together. Along the way, you will learn skills in the fire, police, and EMS professions and put into action your courage, confidence, and character. Bunk at Camp Brandenburg. While a badge for Cadettes won’t be earned during your time at CampHERO, you will be walking away with valuable skills and a sense of accomplishment.
Meet women and men in the fire, police, and emergency medical professions who will teach you some skills they use every day. You’ll learn so much! Like how to communicate with fellow officers and safely enter a home; how to handle a fire hose and work with a fire crew; and how to assess a scene and help out a friend who needs first aid. It’s an amazing day and by the end you’ll see police, firefighters, and EMTs in a whole new light. Respect!

Meet women and men in these careers and learn how you can follow in their footsteps. Even if you don’t want to go into the field, this camp will push your limits and bring you greater confidence to respond in an emergency. The camp curriculum changes every year to provide you with a progressive experience. In the past we’ve hosted activities like rappelling, extrication, putting in an IV, CPR certification, crime scene analysis and photography, citizen intervention, and much more. Your crew will work together to build a project to benefit a local youth serving organization. Come away with many skills you can use in your daily life and feel good about giving back to the community. While a badge won’t be earned during your time at CampBUILD, you will be walking away with valuable skills and a sense of accomplishment.

Plan a Troop Camp Outing! Reservations Open February 15 at Noon. Camp Brandenburg is available for Girl Scout troops and Service Units (SUs) to use during the summer! It’s a Checkfront reservation specifically for summer properties. Troops and Service Units may plan and host their own outdoor adventures at Camp Brandenburg. These summer events will be just like the property reservations the rest of the year; troops and SUs will coordinate, plan, and host these experiences for Girl Scouts. Badgerland staff will not be on site.

Hilltop is a unique lodge situated in the center of Camp Brandenburg. A cherished spot for girls, boasts hallways that ascend the hillside, leading to four bunkhouses. The Beehive is the perfect spot for that very first overnight camp experience. The common areas of Beehive might be shared with other troops based on reservations. Plan and cook a meal together. Find sisterhood around the campfire with your fellow Girl Scouts. The possibilities are endless when you share space and connect with friends both old and new. Summer is the perfect time to celebrate our love of the great outdoors. You have so many options for exploring - from your window, a campsite, the sidewalk, or an open trail. Use #gsoutdoors to share your adventures and see how other girls are completing this challenge. The challenge begins in June and ends in August. You don’t need access to a national park or the woods to enjoy the outdoors! Put yourself out there with us and participate in our Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge. Spending at least 120 minutes a week in nature is associated with good health and wellbeing, even if you spend that time becoming a rock star at rock climbing or making a splash in the puddles around your neighborhood. You’ll have to jump on to see who our surprise special guest will be!

Recharge and build yourself up at our GROWn Up Camp. Come join in on the fun. Take a charter bus departing from either the Madison or La Crosse Leadership Centers to the Mall of America. Stay at the Country Inn & Suites and enjoy their free breakfast, pool, and easy access to the mall. While at the mall, in addition to the shopping, you’ll be able to experience up to 5 of the attractions. You’ll have a day of unlimited rides at Nickelodeon Universe, and Building your own Bear (youth only), and finally you’ll be able to choose 3 other Adventures to make your experience perfect for you and your adult. A girl and her adult have the opportunity to earn this trip by earning 13 Adventure Points through participating in the 2024 cookie program!
Let’s take a trip. We’ll travel by van to Illinois. Departing from Madison or La Crosse Leadership Centers, we will be cabin camping at Camp Palos. Adventures include a day trip to the Brookfield Zoo and possible Animal Encounter, flying through the air at iFly, and other camp related fun! Girls can earn this adventure for themselves and their guardian by earning 10 Adventure Points in the 2024 cookie program.

Saturday, July 13 Grades 6-12 | $25 | 12:30-4:30pm LOCATION: Boulder’s Climbing Gym, Madison east side location Registration Deadline: Sunday, July 7 Learn and practice skills like basic climbing techniques, belaying, and how to properly take care of your body before, during and after a climb! Climb with Courage is available to all ability levels and is designed to allow our Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors a safe place to seek out new challenges. Gear, skills lessons, climbing time and coaching will be provided for each event. We will have space if parents want to join as well. Not only will you earn a fun Climb with Courage patch, but you will have the opportunity to work towards your Snow/ Climbing Adventure Badge.

Now’s the time to get on the water! Expert instructors from our partners at Rutabaga will introduce you to paddling at this twoday event. On the first day, you will try out canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. You’ll learn about equipment, safety, and technique, including perfecting your strokes while floating in your boat. The next day is a day trip exploring a local paddling destination where you’ll put your new skills to the test. This is a program you don’t want to miss—for shore! Come prepared to get wet—wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and change of clothing. Also bring along sunscreen and a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Discovery Depot: A Day in the Life of a Fisheries Biologist C

Grades 7-12 (Adults to meet ratio) Monday, July 8 | 10–2pm | $25 LOCATION: Onalaska, WI Registration Deadline: Not finalized yet Discover what it’s really like to go to work every day with a mission to conserve and protect fish and their habitats. You get to be a fisheries biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for a day. You will learn to catch fish with nets and identify them while working side-by-side along fisheries biologists. It doesn’t get better than this! This experience is held at the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge near La Crosse. Make sure to pack a lunch and bring extra clothing in case you get wet.

By visiting a local stream and having the opportunity to observe it as scientists, anglers, and artists, girls will get the complete picture of what their stream could mean to them and create a personal connection with a local watershed. There are eight core activities that girls will participate in to earn the STREAMgirls patch.

Cheer on the Brewers with your troop, family, and friends and enjoy special ticket savings! Uniformed Girl Scouts can participate in a pregame parade and will receive a patch. Girl Scouts who sell at least 804 boxes may choose to spend their Adventure Points and earn the GS Day at the Brewers for themselves and their favorite Adult. Reward includes Terrace Reserved seating for Girl Scout & guardian plus parking. Troops who sell at least a per girl average of 360 boxes of cookies can earn a Terrace Reserved ticket for each GS that sold plus enough adult tickets to meet Safety Ratio.
Come to a game of the La Crosse Loggers with a special parade, and photo opportunities with the mascot for you and your troop. Enjoy the game and refreshments as you support a local baseball team for an exciting evening! This baseball game of the La Crosse Loggers against the Eau Claire Express will be filled with fun opportunities for you! In addition, your ticket includes your seat for the game, a meal of a hot dog, chips and fountain drink as well as an official Loggers patch. To top it off, some of our Girl Scouts will represent the organization as they sing the National Anthem, and one of our Girl Scouts will act as the representative for the first pitch of the game!

Girl Scouts teaches girls financial literacy from the Cookie Program and Badgerland Fall Fundraiser. She can earn Badgerland Bucks to pay for her own experiences including camp. There are two ways to pay with Badgerland Bucks:

1) Call Customer Care at 800.236.2710 to complete a registration over the phone using Badgerland Bucks. 2) Register and pay online with a credit card, then complete and submit the Badgerland Bucks Reimbursement Form at www.gsbadgerland.org/forms.
CAMP DEPOSITS Lock in registration with a non-refundable $100 deposit on sessions that cost over $150. Full payment is due June 1.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Financial Assistance for program registration is available to qualifying families for Badgerland-sponsored programs. Find the form and qualifying information at www.gsbadgerland.org/forms.
CANCELLATION POLICY Occasionally the need arises to cancel due to weather, safety concerns, or low registration. Maintain accurate contact information in MyGS so staff can reach you. If canceled, the program will be rescheduled or refunded.
CONFIRMATIONS A confirmation will be emailed within 24 hours. You will also receive an email the week before your event. For camp programs and other overnight adventures, you will receive emails several weeks in advance with info including a packing list.
CAMPDOC.COM Look for a separate email from CampDoc inviting you to create an account and complete the camper’s profile. This includes health records. Complete this THREE WEEKS BEFORE CAMP; except CampHERO sessions which are due by June 1.
REFUND POLICY Refunds, which exclude a $10 cancellation fee per event transaction and any non-refundable deposits paid, are provided for cancellations made by the registration deadline or in the event of serious illness or death in the family. Full refunds are issued after the deadline only if the program is canceled.

When you complete your camper’s CampDoc forms, you’ll select her t-shirt size, and we’ll have it waiting for her when she gets to camp.
