Gillian Kyle products at Gibb Stuart

.

Gillian Kyle is a Kilbarchan-based designer and artist whose eponymous home and giftware brand celebrates Scotland in all its facets; often with a wee touch of humour or a cheeky wink. Gillian founded the brand after graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2008 with a desire to forge a career in design and avoid the rush to London. With 2 entrepreneurial parents, starting her own business felt like the natural thing to do. Inspiration for her designs comes from everything Scottish; from our native animals to famous people and iconic places. From small beginnings selling tote bags and tea towels hand-printed with her drawing of a Tunnock’s Tea Cake at local craft markets, she now sells fully licensed ranges with Scotland’s best-loved brands Tunnock’s and IRN-BRU and has created bespoke giftware ranges for brands like Tennent’s, Famous Grouse and Glenfiddich. Through her website, gilliankyle.com, Gillian offers a wide range of products; from the humble mug and tea towel, to wall art, clothing and even fun Scottish suitcases. The business also supplies a network of carefully chosen stockists across the UK and as far afield as Japan and South Korea. Including, now of course, our very own Gibb Stuart in Bridge of Weir. “I’ve been a Gibb Stuart customer since I was a child so it’s wonderful to now see my designs in the window! The shop is so well known locally for quality, friendliness and excellent service, so I’m just delighted to be involved”
