The latest Anteprime Toscane event at the museum complex of Santa Maria Novella in Florence was attended also by the Chianti Rufina Consortium. The Consortium introduced the new vintages that are about to be released, including the debut of the 2020 vintage. The harvest report shows a pattern which has become quite common lately, due to climate change. Winter was mild and rainy, spring was marked by sudden frost which, luckily, did little damage in this area. Summer was hot and muggy cooled, however, by brief thunderstorms which alleviated the water shortage and ensured timely harvesting. Among the tastings of this vintage, we were particularly struck by the intense aroma of black berries preserve and the lip-smacking length of Frascole. The Colognole wine shows hints of blackberry and licorice, richly extracted and with tannins on their way to becoming well-integrated. The San Giuliano byTenuta Bossi - Marchesi Gondi wine shows typical aromas on the nose and excellent drinkability, due to the pleasant freshness and savoriness. The Vigneto I Domi cru of I Veroni winery offers mineral notes of oxide and iodine in addition to the more traditional

Con l’occasione sono state presentate le annate prossime alla commercializzazione, con il debutto della 2020. Questa è stata caratterizzata da un andamento stagionale, frutto dei cambiamenti climatici, ormai sempre più consueto. L’inverno è stato mite e piovoso, la primavera segnata da gelate improvvise che, for tunatamente, hanno lasciato solo lievi cicatrici in questa zona. L’estate è esplosa calda e afosa, rinfrescata da brevi episodi temporaleschi, determinanti a rimpinguare le riserve idriche e garantire una vendemmia in tempi ottimali. Tra gli assaggi di questo millesimo colpisce l’intensità olfattiva di piccoli frutti neri in confettura e la persistenza saporita di Frascole. Il vino di Colognole presenta accenni di mora e liquirizia, concentrato nell’estratto e dal tannino in integrazione. Il San Giuliano di Tenuta Bossi - Marchesi Gondi rivela un profilo olfattivo tipico e un’ottima bevibilità, derivata dalla piacevole freschezza e sapidità. Il cru Vigneto
