Find Twinkles routine Hide Twinkles the puppet somewhere in the classroom. Say the Hello Twinkles chant. Take Twinkles from his hiding place and say “Hello children!” Encourage the children to answer “Hello Twinkles!”

Time for a story Hold up the “listen” flashcard and say the Listen chant. Story 1: Peekaboo! Look at Me! Read the story, or play the CD. Point to the pictures on the story cards as you go. Encourage the children to join in telling the story. Using WORKSHEET 3 • Hold up worksheet 3 and the “draw” flashcard. • Point to the worksheet and say “Oh no!” • Point to the example of Twinkles’ foot where his arm and hand should be. Say “Oh no, cross it out”, tracing the cross with your finger. • Point to the picture of Twinkles with his arm and hand coming out of his eye, and ask “What’s the problem? Here? Here? Or here?” pointing to the different body parts. When the children give you the correct answer, say “Cross it out”. Do the same with the picture of Twinkles with three eyes on his face. • When the children have finished the worksheet, use Twinkles the puppet to show the children his feet, hands

Hora del cuento Muestra el flashcard de “escuchar” y di o pon el chant de Listen. Cuento 1: ¡Cucú tras! ¡Mírame! Lee el cuento o pon el CD. Señala los dibujos de las láminas del cuento mientras lo lees. Anima a los niños a participar en la narración del cuento. Actividades para la FICHA 3 • Muestra la ficha 3 y el flashcard de “dibujar”. • Señala la ficha y di “Oh no!”. • Señala el ejemplo de Twinkles donde su pie está en el lugar de su brazo. Di “Oh no, cross it out”, trazando una X con tu dedo. • Señala el dibujo de Twinkles con el brazo saliendo de su ojo y pregunta “What’s the problem? Here? Here? Or here?” señalando diferentes partes del cuerpo. Cuando los niños te den la respuesta correcta, di “Cross it out”. FAST FINISHERS Children look at the Story 1 reader with a classmate. Encourage the children to retell the story to each other. In pairs, one child says “feet” and points to the other child’s feet, the other child performs an action using his or her feet (kick, jump, point toe, hop, etc). Children repeat the activity with eyes and hands.
ALUMNOS RÁPIDOS Ver el cuento 1 con un compañero. Anima a los niños a contarse el cuento. En parejas, un niño dice “feet” y señala los pies del otro niño, el otro niño representa una acción usando sus pies (dar una patada, saltar, señalarse los dedos del pie, dar saltitos, etc.). Tidy up routine Say the Tidy Up chant with Twinkles. Twinkles shows the children how to tidy up. Children tidy up as they listen to/say the chant.

Extra fun and games
Póster de rutinas Señala el día de la semana y dilo. Anima a los niños a que lo repitan. Marca el día de la semana en el póster.
Routine poster Point to the day of the week and say it. Encourage the children to repeat the day after you. Mark the day of the week on the poster.

Juegos y diversión extra
The Mirror game Organise the class into a circle. Children copy your actions. For example, roll your eyes to the left and to the right, open and close your eyes. Move your hands and feet in different ways. As the children get better at copying, start saying the words “eyes”, “hands” and “feet” as you move each of these parts of the body.
El juego del espejo Coloca a los niños en círculo y que hagan lo que tú haces. Por ejemplo, mueve los ojos de izquierda a derecha, abre y cierra los ojos. Mueve las manos y los pies de diferentes maneras. Where’s the Flashcard? game Stick the “eyes”, “feet” and “hands” flashcards up on the board. Point to the flashcards and elicit the words. Cover the flashcards with a piece of card, and ask “Where are the eyes?” Encourage the children to point and say “There!” Reveal the flashcard. Repeat for the other flashcards, asking “Where are the feet / hands?”
