Enjoy Your Recreation Facilities in Poquoson Playgrounds

Kid’s Island Playground & Phillips Park

Located in Phillips Park at 19 Odd Road, Kid’s Island is the City’s largest playground. Parking nearby at Poquoson High School or the Odd Road Community Center.

Firth Field Complex

Located within Phillips Park, this full sized baseball field features dugouts and lights. Field dimensions are 60’ X 90’. Field rental rates apply. Reservations required.

Tennis Courts

7 tennis courts are available for play at Poquoson High School. Courts are both lighted and unlighted. Court use is free and open to the public when a scheduled activity is not being held at the courts. Note: In early August, pickle ball lines have been added to 1 tennis court. Come play!

Lion’s Playground at South Lawson Park

Located at 1238 Poquoson Avenue in South Lawson Park. This playground features play equipment and swings primarily for ages 2-5.

Park Street Little League Complex Located at 17 Park Street

Features 2 baseball fields, and 1 small minors softball field. Restroom and concession stand onsite. Field rental rates apply.

Municipal Park

This park at 830 Poquoson Avenue features a small picnic shelter, Jr. Olympic size pool (seasonal) and small baseball/softball field. Lighting available on athletic areas only.

East Messick Pocket Playground Park

Located on Messick Road and nearby to the intersection of Ridge Road. This park features a variety of play equipment to include swings, a slide and a small zip line. Picnic tables are

available here as well.

Home to 15 acres of multi-purpose field space primarily used for soccer play. This park also has playground equipment and a walking trail.

South Lawson Park 1238 Poquoson Avenue

Municipal Park Picnic Shelter

Also located at 830 Poquoson Avenue, near the picnic shelter you will find a small walking trail leading to Phillips Park and the Poquoson High School campus. The seasonal Poquoson Pool is nearby. For picnic shelter reservations contact 868-3580.

Program Safety Measures During COVID-19

As you review the programs provided by the Community Recreation Office we are striving to operate recreational programs and activities that are in accordance with the Govenor’s Executive Orders and COVID-19 Emergency requirements. It should be noted that for all activities the following must be observed when considering participation: •If you have a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 or a known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days you will not be permitted to attend programs. •If you are sick, you should stay home. •If you are considered an individual who is identified as high risk we recommend that you refrain from participation.

-Programs both indoors and outdoors will require all participants to operate in a manner where physical distancing of up to 10 feet for sports, and up to 6 feet for all other areas must be observed. -Additional cleaning and disinfection will occur at indoor locations. -Attending programs for both youth and adults will require a health and temperature screening prior to participation. -For indoor programs and classes masks will be required.
