City Wide House and Light Display Decorating Contest Show us your Christmas Cheer & Light Up Poquoson!

The City of Poquoson Office of Community Recreation is inviting and encouraging residents to show off their holiday spirit for all to see and enjoy this season. Make plans now to enter you house in the

“Best Decorated House in the City” contest. Starting Tuesday, December 8 judges will be driving throughout the City limits to review the entries. If you want to participate, you will need to submit your house address for consideration by Monday, December 7 by notifying Community Recreation. Prizes will be awarded for Most Creative Display, Best in Show and more. Contest guidelines require that all decorations be displayed in the front yard and on houses within the City limits. Following submissions Community Recreation will create a map highlighting all of the entries which will be posted on the City of Poquoson’s website listing where to view the decorated homes for all to enjoy. Let’s all spread cheer in Poquoson and make our City the most festive in all of Hampton Roads.

Contest winners will receive a colorful lawn sign announcing their achievement; and other unique gifts as well as official award announcement at the December 14 City Council Meeting. Be sure to put your house on the list for consideration by December 7 by calling 868-3580.
