Paul Scharf, Director of Golf

Dear Golf Members Winter is moving right along; Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, which means warmer weather soon to come. Day dreaming about golf has set in, and I am itching to get playing.

There has been some interesting golf news lately with the PGA Tour and the LIV merger. Looks like The PGA Tour has finalized an agreement with Strategic Sports Group, injecting about $3 billion of cash into a new for-profit entity, giving players and equity stake. It could be very interesting to see what all these changes might look like, and how they might affect us the fans. It’s time to take stock of your equipment. All the latest and greatest equipment has started to hit the market and it is all very exciting. As we get closer to Spring it might be worth the time and effort to have your clubs evaluated. Please allow me or our staff to look at your equipment. We will inspect your clubs top to bottom - Maybe your grips need replacing or the groves on your wedges are too worn and you might benefit from a new wedge or even a new hybrid. If your clubs are a bit old, we might suggest you demo something new to add your bag. A bit more length and consistency might be what your game needs. Do not forget about your putter. The best way to get excited about your game is by making more putts. Keep an eye out for our tournament and league signups, they should be going out soon. I look forward to the upcoming season. I hope everyone is thinking about golf - I know I am. Do not forget, swinging a club a bit now will help you stay golf ready.
