power of women who are successfully doing their thing, owning their career paths, and helping other women achieve their dreams.” In the Hamptons, these women have a chance to relax, enjoying a respite from the demands of their busy lives and careers. This special night is an elegant mix of both elements, where, as Natasha Esch of MONC XIII puts it, “I can connect with women in the same place in life and business who I can lean on and learn from.” Being an entrepreneur and business owner means never actually turning off, and the Second Shift is proving that there are many different ways to get the job done. “The Second Shift is an invaluable resource for a growing business because I can work from my home office here with my family and connect with a network of vetted women who are available to lend me their expertise when and how I need it,” says Lindsey Boyd, cofounder of the Laundress, an eco-friendly line of laundry and home cleaning products. Also in attendance are Ariane Goldman from Hatch Maternity and Winnie Beattie from Warm, and by the end of the night they’re making plans for a brand collaboration. Valerie McMurray, founder of the organic sun-care brand Soleil Toujours, meets Leilani Bishop, who carries McMurray’s line at Botanica Bazaar in Amagansett, which Mary Kate McGrath reported on in PureWow. “This is the best kind of work event,” says McMurray. “I’m sitting in this gorgeous space, eating an amazing dinner, talking with inspiring peers, and actually getting work done. Talk about professional women being the ultimate multitaskers!” Bhumi Farms, 131 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, 646-4968364; bhumifarms.com
