LIFE IS A RUNWAY VETERAN FORD MODEL ALLISON WALTON SHARES HER AUSTIN SECRETS TO A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.
Since moving from New York to Austin almost five years ago, Allison Walton, a Ford model for 24 years, has found the commuter life to be more than worth it. “Austin gives you the space to do things you haven’t had the chance to do in life yet,” Walton says. While she still models full-time and has a crash pad in New York, Austin has allowed her to explore creative endeavors like working on mixed-media pieces with her new husband, artist Bale Creek Allen, and writing a guidebook for aspiring models. Walton recently let Austin Way in on some of her secrets to a model life. Body: Walton loves the Town Lake YMCA for its access to the lake and trail, and she attends classes at Black Swan Yoga. “It’s so nice that they’re donation-based. It’s very inclusive.” 1213 W. Style: Local designer Gail Chovan’s all-black concept Blackmail boutique offers a high-end gothic feel. “Gail has that urban influence that I look for.” 1202 S. Congress Ave., 512-8045881; blackmailboutique.com Nightlife: Walton craves the steak tartare and escargots at Justine’s Brasserie. “I met Bale there. We literally saw each other from across the room!” 4710 E. Fifth St., 512-385-2900; justines1937.com
