May is here—and so is one of our favorite issues of the year. This month, in honor of Mother’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the superwomen who somehow manage to do it all— and make it look easy (and we know it isn’t). These badass ladies are jugglers: they run businesses, close deals, tend to patients, pack school lunches, show up at their kids’ events, sneak in a Pilates class, and still nd time to show up for themselves. But let’s be real: Having it all doesn’t mean having it all gured out. These women aren’t superheroes in capes; they’re vibrant, dynamic and they’ve mastered the art of balance—sometimes perfectly, sometimes chaotically—and we respect them even more for it. They’re smart, stylish and soulful. Read about them on page 51 and you’ll see for yourself.
In addition, this month’s “Top 5” is devoted to a handful of gorgeous gi ing options, whether you’re seeking a Mother’s Day present, something fabulous for a special occasion, or a treat for yourself (you deserve it). “Flavor Files” o ers a sneak peek at the latest round of crazy-good restaurants—or a snapshot, at least, since there are so many popping up every week across South Florida. And if you happen to be scoping out new neighborhoods this spring and summer, we’ve got a roundup of some of the latest real estate options coming available, each with its own distinct draws.
Enjoy the issue.

…OF THEIR GAME, THEIR CAREERS, THEIR LIVES. THESE LADIES ARE PROOF POSITIVE THAT FABULOUS IS FOUND AT ANY AGE WHEN YOU SET YOUR PRIORITIES AND MAKE YOURSELF ONE OF THEM.
BY LORI CAPULLO
t 48, Nathalie Cadet James wears many hats—and all of them with intention. As the founder and principal of Luxe Fête, an award-winning boutique event production company that specializes in creating transformative experiences for luxury brands, she brings creative flair and razor-sharp precision (thank her former life as an attorney for that) to her work, which is rooted in storytelling, strategy, and soulful execution—a bodacious blend of heart and hustle.
A proud Haitian American, Cadet James infuses her cultural heritage and deep appreciation for beauty into everything she touches. “I love this work because it allows me to merge creativity with strategy and emotion with execution. There’s something deeply fulfilling about watching a concept come to life and knowing you helped create joy, meaning or impact for others.”
Outside of her business, she’s on the board at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden and advises The Miami Foundation on a visionary new headquarters—a 20,000-square-foot hub designed to spark connection and innovation among Miami’s nonprofits. But ask her where
she truly comes alive and she’ll tell you it’s dancing in the kitchen with her daughters, planning an adventure with her husband, or unwinding with a good book and a cup of coffee. Her north star? Boundaries. “My time is sacred,” she says. “If it doesn’t align with my values, my purpose or my family’s well-being, I say no without guilt.”
She also rejects the myth that “having it all” means doing it all. “Life has seasons,” she notes. “Some days, I’m in full boss mode. On other days, I’m just a mom cheering on the sidelines or in the dance studio with untrimmed hair and a full heart. Real power is knowing what to prioritize and when.” Success, for Cadet James, has evolved. Once measured in courtroom wins or flawlessly executed events, it’s now rooted in presence—in the laughter of her children, in quiet moments of pride, in becoming the kind of woman she wants them to see. She unapologetically rejects “performative busy-ness,” instead leaning into the rituals that restore her: a long shower, stillness, and the steady rhythm of the ocean. When life feels heavy, she leans into her tribe—family, lifelong friends, and mentors who remind her who she is.
amantha Abraham is the kind of woman who balances career, motherhood, and self-care with grace—and a great playlist in her ears. As division marketing manager for a well-known portfolio of liquor brands, the 39-year-old covers seven states, including Florida. And the job comes with some pretty enviable perks: think Formula 1 Miami, the Miami Dolphins, the Tampa Bay Lightning, South Beach Seafood Festival and Aspen Food & Wine, among others.
But outside the office (and often in between), Abraham finds her rhythm in movement. She’s committed to lifting weights, Pilates, long walks, and making sure a workout is part of her daily routine—even if it’s a quick one sandwiched between Zoom calls. It’s her non-negotiable form of self-care, one that fuels both her career and her role as a mom. After 5 p.m., Abraham says, it’s family time. “Unless there’s a big event or a dinner,” she says. “Anything else can wait.” It’s that kind of
structure that helps her stay grounded—and present. She’s quick to shut down the myth that anyone truly has it all. “Real life is a mix of highs and lows,” she notes, and she embraces that fact. For her, success looks like a productive day at work, a good sweat session, dinner with her daughter, and everyone getting a decent night’s sleep.
Gone are the days of feeling guilty for skipping a night out or saying no to drinks. Now, she favors a quiet evening with loved ones, a walk listening to a podcast like “The Toast” or “Giggly Squad,” and tuning into what feels good. As for getting older, she’s all about it. “The best part is using the lessons learned over the years to be able to let go of people and things that don’t fulfill you and nourishing things that do,” she says. “Aside from that, being financially stable, and having the ability to knock things off my bucket list, travel and buy overpriced skin care and Botox!”
elley Maple is rewriting the narrative around midlife—one confident, empowered woman at a time. A board-certified family nurse practitioner and expert in regenerative and aesthetic medicine, Maple is the founder of KM Health Collective and co-founder/chief medical officer of Medical Anti-Aging, which helps women feel their best through evidence-based hormone therapy, cutting-edge treatments, and holistic wellness strategies. “It’s about energy, selfassurance, and feeling vibrant,” she says—and for Maple, watching her patients reclaim their vitality is what lights her up. “I'm obsessed with educating and empowering women to thrive from the inside out.”
A fierce advocate for wellness, the 46-year-old practices what she preaches, working out at 5 a.m. five days a week. Whether she’s lifting weights at LFT Lab, training for the HYROX competition in New York, or simply starting the day with a nourishing breakfast, that early morning routine is her anchor. “It’s the foundation for how I show up for my family, my patients, and my team.”
Protecting her equanimity is just as important as her wellness. Maple has mastered the art of
saying “no” to anything—or anyone—that drains her. From silencing her phone to guarding her energy, she considers boundaries a form of self-respect. When life gets chaotic, she finds calm in movement and her tribe. Whether it's a solo walk with a podcast, a sweaty gym session, or words of encouragement from her partner, Matthew, Maple finds strength in her people and serenity in perspective.
When she talks about “having it all,” she calls out the myth many women still chase. “Having it all doesn’t mean doing it all,” she says. “It means choosing what truly matters and being okay with imperfection.” For her, one of those things is serving as the Women's Health Ambassador for Gainful, a personalized performance nutrition company that she says has transformed the way she approaches her own wellness.
And aging? She welcomes it. “Aging is a privilege. I love the woman I am becoming.” If her kids ever wrote a book about her, she hopes it would be called Organized Chaos: A Story of a Mom Who Built a Beautiful Life While Forgetting Where She Parked. Imperfect, vibrant, and full of heart—just the way she intended.
t 66, Sher Salzman is living proof that artistry, resilience and reinvention never go out of style. A trailblazing professional makeup artist and educator, Salzman has spent decades shaping faces—and careers—in the beauty and fashion world, from the photo studios of Chicago to the celebrity sets of Los Angeles. A pioneer in airbrush makeup and a former West Coast beauty expert for Mademoiselle, Salzman has worked with icons like Whoopi Goldberg and Cameron Diaz, created foundation shades for Estée Lauder, and seen her artistry grace the pages of Italian Vogue, Rolling Stone, and Elle
Yet despite her dazzling résumé, Sher’s proudest roles are wife and mother. “I waited to have children,” she says. “Now, my legacy as a wife and mom dominates.” Raising her sons Noah and Ari, alongside a 30-year marriage to her husband—a fellow creative in the film industry—grounds her deeply. “The time I spend with my sons is the highlight of my life.” Success, for Salzman, has evolved. Once measured by professional accolades, it's now
rooted in health, family, and happiness. “Values change as you get older,” she reflects. “Material things matter less. I have an amazing family, and we are healthy. I feel happy—so I have it all.”
Salzman relies on several rituals to keep herself centered: lifting weights, painting abstracts, and reformer Pilates sessions that stretch not just her body, but her mind. Music is her sanctuary, and her circle—anchored by her husband and a tight-knit group of girlfriends— provides unwavering support.
Her students, too, inspire her daily. “I love working with young, progressive artists. We understand each other,” she says with a smile. She teaches not just technique, but resilience and adaptability, skills she’s mastered in a career that’s taken her from photo shoots to farflung fashion capitals over the years. And when it comes to aging, Salzman embraces it fully. “The best part is my renewed independence and experience.” If her sons ever wrote a book about her, she’d hope it was called Lift, Laugh, Love—a title as vibrant, strong, and spirited as the woman herself.
t 51, Rachael Manocchio is the embodiment of resilience and reinvention. As the owner of Doctors Best Wellness Center in Weston, she leads a concierge-style functional medicine practice dedicated to helping men and women reclaim their health through bioidentical hormones, medical weight loss, and advanced diagnostics. But beyond the treatments, it’s the transformation that fuels her. “I love helping people take back control of their vitality, energy, and confidence—especially when traditional medicine has failed them.”
Manocchio’s work is personal. She’s built a business that mirrors her own evolution. After losing her husband, she faced a choice: collapse under the weight of grief or rise through intentional healing. “I realized that if I didn’t prioritize my mental clarity, I couldn’t lead my business or support my loved ones. Taking time to grieve and realign made me stronger, more present, and more purpose-driven.”
Now, success—once measured by income and accolades—takes on a different look. “It’s about impact and freedom. Helping women feel empowered in their own bodies while having the space to live and truly enjoy my life—and my son—is what matters most.” Her peace is nonnegotiable. If it doesn’t feel aligned, she lets it go. “If it’s not a full-body yes, it’s a no,” she says.
At the end of a long day, Manocchio retreats to the bath with essential oils, phone off, reconnecting with stillness. Writing helps, too— it’s her way of turning inner storms into clarity. She's also an avid pickleball player. And when life gets overwhelming, she leans into her tribe. “I’m surrounded by strong, spiritually aligned women who remind me of my power when I forget.”
Getting older, for Manocchio, isn’t a battle— it’s a blessing. “The best part is self-trust. I’ve stopped apologizing for taking up space. I’m more peaceful, more discerning, and more rooted in what matters.”
powerhouse of passion, purpose and unmistakable style: that’s Liliana Montoya. The 43-year-old mom, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and former model is the creative mind behind Liliana Montoya Swim, a brand as bold as the woman who built it.
Born in Medellín, Colombia, Montoya grew up sewing with her grandmother and her aunt. In 2006, she launched her swimwear label, fusing her Latin roots with luxury and sustainability. Today, she runs a namesake boutique on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach offering one-of-a-kind pieces that are handcrafted and ethically made. The line’s signature gold heart emblem is a personal mark she's carried since childhood that symbolizes self-love and purpose. “Success, for me, is about the person I became through the journey,” she says. “It’s about embracing the challenges, overcoming what I once thought I couldn’t and becoming stronger with every lesson.”
Montoya’s journey has taken her from modeling in her company’s campaigns to producing fashion shows worldwide and seeing her
work showcased in Harper’s Bazaar, Sports Illustrated, Marie Claire and GQ, among others. But behind the glamour is a gal grounded in grit. When burnout struck after opening her boutique, it was her son’s words—“Mama, I miss you”—that forced a reset. Now, her life is less about the hustle and more about presence—cheering at her son’s basketball games, nurturing her spiritual path through indigenous sweat lodge rituals, and saying a firm “no” to comparison culture. To reconnect with herself after a particularly long or grueling day, she says, “I pray. I pray when I eat, when I drive, or when I need to center myself. I also listen to meditations that help me stay grounded and full of gratitude—what I like to call ‘tank full.’”
After nearly two decades in the industry, Montoya’s impact extends beyond fashion. Her #SizeYourHeart movement encourages women to grow through love and action. Her brand supports artisans across Latin America and invests in social projects rooted in sustainability and cultural respect. In her own words: “We are mermaid makers weaving tales of craftsmanship and sustainability.”

Known as "the voice you hear everywhere,” Vanessa James has lent her voice to some of the world's most iconic brands, from TV and radio stations to campaigns for Net ix, Amazon, iHeartMedia, and Macy’s, to name a few. A champion of diversity and inclusion, entrepreneurship, and
creative collaboration, James hosts three annual signature events in South Florida: VJMedia Mixology, which connects brands, in uencers and innovators; The Women of Impact Series, celebrating female entrepreneurs and creatives, and Food, Wine, and Fete, a rst-of-its-kind all-inclusive Soca experience in Miami,
celebrating Caribbean culture and amplifying Caribbean chefs and cuisine.
Essential tool(s) of your trade: My beloved Sennheiser 416 microphone is essential. Voiceovers are my happy place, and right now it's where the magic is happening in my career. A er years in the game, I can tell you that investing in quality gear is a gamechanger. It lets me ditch the technical worries and dive head rst into being the best I can be.
Morning ritual: I try to never miss my morning walk. It sets such a great tone for the day—I get to connect with nature and have some quiet time before things get too crazy. I also read a daily passage from Melody Beattie's book, Journey to the Heart my tried-and-true way to get centered in gratitude with whatever the day brings.
Workout that always makes you feel powerful: Oh, there’s just
nothing like that feeling of jogging on the warm sand until you've got a good sweat going, and then just plunging straight into the ocean for a cool-down! That post-workout swim, especially a er crushing a HIIT session or a solid two-mile jog, makes me feel electric.
Go-to spot for shopping in South Florida: Ah, Merrick Park is my favorite! And you know what I absolutely adore? Taking myself out on a proper solo date. I’ll start with lunch at Mariposa in Neiman Marcus — outdoor table, always! And trust me on this: You must try their popovers (below) with that dreamy strawberry butter and the lobster salad. A erwards, I’ll stroll over to Crate and Barrel for a browse, then stop at Camila for some gorgeous loungewear and Puri cation García to see if any sparkly bangle or accessory is calling my name. It’s pure bliss!
Favorite shopping destination outside of the The Shops at Normandie in Port of Spain, Trinidad. I never miss a chance to wander through the evening bazaars during carnival season,
and I always make a beeline for boutiques like BeneCaribe (right) for their amazing wraps and palazzo pants, Shoma The Label for elevated luxury pieces that I keep to host events here in Miami, and Chandra Maharaj for my go-to swimsuits and loungewear. It’s such a treat!
Most prized possession: My voice! It’s how I connect with the world every single day, and I truly cherish it and take great care of it. I’m also incredibly grateful to have built an entire company on the strength of this very voice. VJMedia was born out of pure gumption back in 2010, when I took a leap of faith in myself and my ability to tell stories and celebrate others through my voice. I’m so proud to say that I still get to do that through my work every single day.
Causes that have your heart: K.I.N.D Foundation: Kids in Need of Desks in Malawi is a foundation created by Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC and Unicef to provide desks and school supplies to young students in Malawi. LifeNetforFamilies here in South Florida is helping families with food insecurity, and NAVA: The National Association of Voiceover Actors, a
foundation created by my peers to support fellow actors, especially those a ected by the LA res.
Still on your to-do list? I truly believe that now, more than ever, we need to lend our voices and advocate ercely for the most vulnerable among us, not just here in America but across the globe. With essential funding dwindling for those who need it most, this isn’t the time to turn away. Instead, it’s a moment to lean in with compassion and support those whose lives we may never fully know but whom we have the power to touch deeply.
I would love to partner with leaders like Former rst lady Michelle Obama to support girls’ initiatives globally, including feminine hygiene support, access to drinking water, and safe spaces to learn.
Motto you live by: In life and business, a setback is o en a setup for success. Do the things that scare you the most and watch how the universe supports your vision.

During her 20-plus years in urban planning and development, the president and CEO of the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has been pivotal in transforming the city’s downtown through her vision, leadership, and, it must be said, moxie.
“Government is not for everyone,” Morejon points out, “and having a father who is an artist and entrepreneur, and living in Western Colorado, government work was very foreign to me.” But starting her career with the DDA as an entry-level planner didn’t throw Morejon. Given the diminutive size of the division, she wasn’t immediately immersed into a bureaucratic machine. Instead, she says, “I just saw many opportunities to take on new things without really asking permission. There were times when I thought, ‘Wait, this isn’t really working as well as it could; the system isn’t right; the outcome could
happen faster.’” So, she set about making things go. In those early days, engaging with the community —visiting local neighborhoods and chatting with residents to ascertain what they truly wanted for the city they called home—not only deepened Morejon’s connection to the community; it ignited her passion for urban development. “We were actually going into people’s homes and sitting on their couches, talking with them about what matters to them,” she recalls. “I realized that, while what I was doing might not be tangible on a dayto-day basis, listening to people and their feelings about how they want the city to grow and what they need sparks a passion.”
Then there’s that moxie. Morejon’s proactive mindset led her to take on responsibilities beyond her assigned role. She recalls working on one project alongside department directors who were two or three levels above her position; when those supervisors le , she seamlessly assumed their duties, collaborating on projects with high-level city o cials. During those transitional periods, she pursued promotions, leapfrogging tiers in the hierarchy. “I knew that sometimes I was outside my
I KNEW THAT SOMETIMES I WAS OUTSIDE MY LANE OR TAKING ON THINGS PEOPLE THOUGHT I SHOULDN’T. BUT SINCE I HAD BEEN DOING THE WORK ANYWAY FOR A YEAR AND I WAS DOING IT WELL, I DIDN’T LOOK AT MOVING FROM ENTRY-LEVEL PLANNER TO NEXT-LEVEL PLANNER. I THOUGHT, LET ME AIM HIGHER.”
lane or taking on things people thought I shouldn’t,” she admits. “But since I had been doing the work anyway for a year and I was doing it well, I didn’t look at moving from entry-level planner to next-level planner. I thought, let me aim higher.”
That decision culminated in her appointment as Director of Development Services, which enabled her to delve into what she describes as “really visible projects,” such as the Riverwalk Master Plan and the Downtown Master Plan. “I was midrange in my career at the city then, so I spent a lot of time sitting back and kind of listening, taking in the politics, the dynamics and the personalities. That helped me take on what was to come.”
When, in 2016, she assumed the role of President and CEO of the DDA, Morejon became laser focused on enhancing public spaces, among them the currently under-construction and much anticipated Huizenga Park. Under her guidance, Downtown Fort Lauderdale has evolved from a primarily o ce-centric district to a multifaceted urban environment, and it continues to metamorphose every year.
Taking a long view, Morejon sees transportation and mobility investments as critical drivers of Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s ongoing growth. “We have to think about how we are going to move people around—how we are connecting from downtown to places like the Panthers Arena, for example? What will the east-west transit lines be? North-south as well.” She adds with a laugh, “We could start by improving our tra c signals, so we don’t have to stop at every single red light.”
Making future-forward investments in transportation and in educational o erings from grade school through postsecondary institutions are what Morejon believes will be the main catalysts that will help downtown— and the greater community—remain successful and economically viable, a place, Morejon says, “where multiple generations want to stay.” With her at the helm, that’s a foregone conclusion. ■
• GO-TO MORNING RITUAL: One word: co ee.
• LAST BOOK YOU READ THAT YOU LOVED, AND WHY: I just reread For the Love of Cities: The Love A air Between People and Their Places by Peter Kageyama. It reminded me how important it is to bring people together who really love where they live, and to channel that energy into small but simple gestures that make the city better.
• BUSINESS LUNCH SPOT OF CHOICE: Moxies. It’s an elevator ride away!
• PRIZED POSSESSION: The bonds I share with my family and close friends.
• NECESSARY WORK ACCESSORY: Boots for field visits to Huizenga Park.
• IDEAL WAY TO SPEND A WEEKEND DAY: A long, solo walk to the beach in the morning and a sunset boat ride with my family.
• AFTER-WORK WIND-DOWN METHOD OF CHOICE: Prepping dinner with a glass of wine while watching Jeopardy!
• NO. 1 WEEKEND GETAWAY SPOT: My girlfriend’s house on Tavernier Creek.
• IF YOU HAD TO LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I’ve lived in Pompano Beach for 25 years, but if not there, then Downtown Fort Lauderdale, of course!
THESE VERY DIFFERENT SOUTH FLORIDA CITIES ALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON: AN ASPIRATIONAL LIFESTYLE TO SUIT EVERY BUYER’S DREAM.
For those who prefer flair to fanfare.
Tucked away from the glitz of South Beach and the stratospheric real estate of Billionaire’s Row, North Beach (NoBe) arguably remains Miami Beach’s last true neighborhood, known for its refreshingly unpretentious vibe, favoring community over crowds and authenticity over ash.
The walkability of the area also appeals, especially with Miami Modernist (MiMo) architecture framing locally owned cafés, boutiques, and cultural gems like the Miami Beach Bandshell. The upcoming, $53.8 million 72nd Street Community Complex will soon bring an aquatic center, innovation hub, library, and pickleball deck, and the historic Byron Carlyle Theater is preparing to undergo a long-awaited revival.
The neighborhood’s evolution is already well underway. Developer Le erts is leading a condo boom with four projects, including the just completed 72 Park, the rst new condo to open in the neighborhood in ve years and the rst of four luxury condos the developer will bring to the area. Ella Miami Beach, Shoma Bay, and a star-studded hotel by DJ Kygo are just a few more big-ticket developments reshaping the area.
The a uent community welcomes new branded residences.
Aventura will soon be home to its rst-ever branded residences. Real estate heavyweights Related Group and BH Group, in partnership with hospitality powerhouse Viceroy, have unveiled details for Viceroy Residences Aventura, a 274-home development poised to rede ne upscale living in one of South Florida’s fastest-growing cities. Designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by DesignAgency, the project marks Related’s second collaboration with the Viceroy brand.
“Aventura is booming, but new construction hasn’t kept pace,” says Nick Pérez, president of Related Group’s Condominium Division. “This will be a gamechanger for both the city and the branded residence market.”
As for amenities, think: a resort-style pool deck with a spa, cabanas, and a poolside bar, plus the Hemingway Roo op Bar & Terrace for next-level social lounging; a rock-climbing wall; pickleball courts; an indoor half-court; a golf simulator (opposite), and a gym with dedicated Pilates and yoga spaces. There’s even a pet spa, because…well, Aventura.
The iconic city just keeps getting better.
Miami and Fort Lauderdale have long dominated South Florida’s luxury real estate scene, but Hollywood is quietly emerging as a serious contender.
In 2024, the median sales price for a single-family home in the city was $1.35 million, according to ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, compared to Miami Beach, which saw a median sales price of $3.55 million. But the appeal extends beyond the price tag. “Hollywood is a hidden gem in between Miami and Fort Lauderdale,” says Compass agent Nancy Batchelor. “It’s close to everything — great beaches, restaurants, shops and schools —and you can live there at a fraction of the cost.”
Already home to a high-energy downtown area, a lively beach boardwalk, and more than 60 parks, the city is now in the midst of a $1.5 billion development boom, with golf courses designed by Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, and Rees Jones expected within ve years.
Among the most anticipated projects: Icon Beach, with 350 residences, a marina, and a collection of art throughout from the Jorge M. Pérez Contemporary Art Collection. Amenities span 30,000 square feet and include a pool deck with outdoor cinema (above), summer kitchens and waterfront event space. Also of note: the expansion of The Diplomat Beach Resort through the addition of 500 guest rooms and 350 condo units and, in nearby Hallandale Beach, Shell Bay by Auberge Resorts Collection.
Fort Lauderdale’s latest dose of luxury has a di erent look.
Fort Lauderdale’s Victoria Park is about to get a healthy dose of luxury: Regency Development Group, working with star architect Kobi Karp, has unveiled Regency Park, an exclusive townhome development a stone’s throw from Las Olas and the beach.
Comprising only 24 residences with a starting price of $1.9 million, Regency Park is set to deliver three- to four-bedroom townhomes, each with a private roo op terrace, an interior elevator, and a two-car climate-controlled garage; interiors by design rm Arhidiza include Armony Cucine kitchens and smart home automation.
It’s the rst townhome community to introduce separate buildings for a state-of-the-art tness center and a dedicated business center, notes George Coloney of Keyes Real Estate. With demand on the rise for this brand of high-end living, Regency Park is set to make its mark.

Welcome to the world of influencer marketing, where every day people can turn their opinions into gold – and simultaneously turn your shopping cart into a black hole.
Think of it as the modern-day word-of-mouth but amplified through the magic of social media. Instead of your Aunt Becky raving about her new cooking pots, it’s a person with a perfectly curated Instagram feed, telling you why you absolutely need to try that delicious Dubai chocolate.
Influencers are people with a talent for inspiring their audience’s purchasing decisions. They’ve built a loyal following by sharing their passions, from their travel adventures to the latest fashion trends. They partner with brands to promote products and services, making it feel less like an ad and more like a friendly suggestion from someone who really gets you.
Choosing the right influencer to market your product or brand is like picking a date: you want someone who’s a good fit. It’s not just about how many followers they have; it’s
about finding someone whose vibe matches your own. Do they love the same things? Do their followers look like your ideal customer?
You’ll want to check how many people their content is reaching, how people engage with it, and the price they charge.
Studies have shown that influencer marketing campaigns can generate a significantly higher ROI than traditional digital marketing.
Here’s how influencer marketing benefits your brand:
• Boost Brand Awareness: Introduce your brand to new audiences.
• Establish Authority and Trust: Leverage their credibility to build brand trust.
• Reach Your Target Audience: Connect with potential customers who are genuinely interested in your products or services.
• Drive Engagement: Spark conversations, encourage interaction, and foster a stronger connection.

You were so young when you lost your father to cancer and yet you were determined to do something to make a difference. What gave you the confidenceto do it?
After my dad passed, I reached out to a few nonprofits in the brain cancer space to get involved, but no one responded. So, I decided to create what I felt was missing. It wasn’t about confidence. But I’ve always had the mindset that if something needs to exist, I’ll find a way to build it. I just went for it, and let purpose lead the way.
Tell us about the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
I started the Glioblastoma Research Organization six months after my dad passed away. It began as a small awareness platform and today it's a global nonprofit that has raised over $2.2 million, funded 10+ research initiatives and built a deeply engaged digital community. We’ve hosted summits, created a podcast, which is now a docuseries, and reimagined what advocacy can look like for a disease that often gets overlooked. We’re still growing, and the best part is we’re just getting started.
What has your journey been like since then?
It’s been full of learning curves, small wins, and constant evolution. I started with so much emotion and not a lot of experience, but over time, I’ve figured out how to lead with both heart and clarity. I’ve learned to ask for help, build real partnerships, and stay open to feedback. Looking ahead, I hope to keep growing the organization in meaningful ways through global collaborations, more patient-centered initiatives, and innovative approaches to fundraising and awareness.
Growing the organization remains a major focus — expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and continuing to collaborate with other nonprofits, research institutions, and brands to drive global awareness and change in the brain cancer space. I’m also writing a book, which has been a longtime personal goal. Separately, I’m continuing to grow The Nonprofit Marketing Co., helping other mission-driven organizations scale their impact through strategic storytelling and brand partnerships. And quietly, I’m working on a new project in the neuro space. I can’t share much about it yet, but the goal is to take something that’s traditionally complex and bring it to a much wider audience. Big things ahead!
How does such a determinedly hard worker spend her downtime?
I really value my downtime. I love to travel, especially to places where I can immerse myself in different cultures, learn the language, and step outside my usual routine. It’s one of the ways I reconnect with creativity and curiosity. At home, my perfect downtime consists of long walks, good food, and quality time with people I care about. And if there’s a Formula 1 race on,
I’m watching!
State of mind going into the second half of 2025 in 10 words or less: Focused on purpose, not noise.
