Windows Fundamentals: !ntroduction - How to Use the Gomputer

Length: Six sessions

Max 12 students

Pre-Req: To attend this class, ALL students must have access to their OWN computers outside of class. Students should have competent keyboarding skills to get the most out of this class. lf you need to improve your own typing skills, search ONLINE for kevboardinq tutorials to ensure your success in the class.

Description: Have you ever used a computer? Do you wish you knew what you could do on a computer? This is an introductory class that gives you a lot of practice with basic word processing skills. Using Windows 10, you will learn the standard features for using your home computer and will become more comfortable typing basic things such as a letter, a recipe, a list and much more. Now you can have fun with your computer.

Would you like to practice honing your confidence in using the computer keyboard before the class begins? lf you have never taken any kind of basic typing / keyboard class and want to develop or improve your own Keyboard Typing Skills, consider searching the lnternet for one of the FREE Keyboard Tutorials (selfteaching experiences). The more you know, the more you will want to use your computer.

NOTE: Students experienced with a Mac and who have used the Internet may sign up for the following classes: All iPhone & Android classes and other phone related classes

Android Phone: How to use

Length: Two sessions

Pre-Req: Must have an Android phone, Samsung preferably. Please bring your fully-charged Android phone and your charging cord to class. You must have a Google/Gmail address and know your password.

Description: This training is limited to 6 participants. ln this class, learn how to change various settings. We will make sure your phone is set up to sync [backup], contacts, photos, and apps. We go over using the Google calendar, set up contacts, email, and photos. We will use Google Chrome on a computer to see what is on your phone.

Apple Watch Basics

Length: One Session

Pre-Req: Apple Watch must be Series 5 (2019) or newer. You must bring a fully charged iPhone and Apple Watch to class.

Description: "You may have an Apple Watch on your wrist, but do you know all the cool things it can do?" Try this 3-hour workshop and learn how to get the most out of yourApple Watch, from tracking your heart rate to finding your iPhone to keeping you connected with everything you care about.

Excel: Introduction

Description: Excel is a Microsoft spreadsheet program that enables users to format, organize and calculate data in a spreadsheet. ln this class,you will be introduced to spreadsheets and basic data functions of Excel for home use. You will learn how to use formulas, create multiple spreadsheets as well as how to sort data.

Description: Learn how to use the photo editing tools built into Google Photos. That includes cropping, filters, adding graphics, and sharing the results. Viewing and downloading to a computer.

iPhone: How to use

Length: one session (offered TWo separate times, one day per class) Max 8 students

Pre-Req: Must have an iPhone 10 or newer, know how to make and answer phone calls, and listen to voice messages. Please bring your fullycharged iPhone and your charging cord.

Description: ln this class, students will learn how to adjust the sound and change a few other important settings, including a discussion about backing up your iPhone and the importance and value of having an iCloud account. Students will be provided tips about using the phone features and adding to Favorites as well as be given recommendations about entering Contacts. Some texting tips, a variety of ways to use Siri will be introduced, and more.

Shutterfly Online Scrapbooking

Length: Two Sessions

Description: Shutterfly is an online website that allows you to, not orlly store your photos for free, but also allows you to print your photos on a multitude of surfaces: scrapbooks, cards, stationery, calendars, personalized gifts, home decor, and more. This class will teach you to create a scrapbook, but you can use the skills you learn in class to personalize many other cool products.
