Chef Won Young Jeong, Executive Pastry Chef

Sometimes, all it takes is a single dessert to change the course of a career. For Chef Won Young Jeong, it was tiramisu—a quiet slice that sparked a louder calling. What began as a fascination quickly became a lifelong pursuit, leading him from Michelin-starred kitchens to the heart of Grand Hyatt Manila.

His pastry journey started in New York, where he trained under the sharp discipline and artistry of Jean-Georges and Eleven Madison Park. From there, he returned home to South Korea, joining Park Hyatt Seoul as Pastry Sous Chef, a role that deepened his relationship with the Hyatt family.

Chef Won later stepped into pre-opening leadership with DoubleTree by Hilton, honing his signature style: refined, balanced, and laced with just the right amount of whimsy. Now at Grand Hyatt Manila, he leads the pastry team with a quiet confidence, bringing thoughtful, Asian-inspired flair to each creation.

At the core of his craft is a simple goal—to make something sweet enough to remember, and warm enough to feel like home.
