We strive to inspire all of our customers to try something new, develop existing skills and reach their full potential whilst having fun in the great outdoors!
We offer a wide variety of land and water based activities during winter, including powerboating, bushcraft, problem solving, keel boat sailing, rafted canoeing, climbing, archery, mountain biking, and high ropes.
In all this, we make links to the wellbeing and therapeutic benefits of challenging yourself in a safe and inclusive outdoor environment.

A. Yes. For all internal accommodation we provide bedding including pillows. We do not provide these for bell tents bookings.
A. Yes. Most of our activities are able to be adapted for all abilities and disabilities. We have accessible kit for these participants. Please see our accessibility page on our website.
A. Yes. This must be organised with reception. Students and parents are welcome but must be accompanied by a teacher.
A. No. We unfortunately do not provide wellington boots, although we do have a few spares
Q. HOW MANY STUDENTS CAN BE IN EACH GROUP?
A. Maximum of 12 students per group, at least one teacher needs to accompany a group.
Q. CAN I HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR RISK ASSESSMENTS?
A. No, but our Risk Management Summary and Health and Safety Policy are found on our website in the 'Leaders Hub’.
Q. WHAT TIMES ARE THE SESSIONS?
WINTER: Morning Session- 09:30-12:30, Afternoon- 13:30-16:30, Evening 18:30-20:30
Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SESSION DURATION?
A. Sessions are 3 hours long that involves one activity and a split session involved two 1.5 hour activities
Q. WHAT IF MY GROUP GETS COLD?
A. We have the option to move inside to do alternative activities and take regular breaks to get warm. Activities can be discussed on the day with group leaders if the weather is bad.

FIND OUT HOW TO WITH US
Our last two residential visits to GWC for our year 5 and 6 pupils have been in December. The range of usual activities are still on offer with children getting out on the water canoeing even in the winter!

Our outdoor learning packages provide a wider educational experience whilst still enjoying the great outdoors
We currently offer a Rocks, Soils and Fossils and a Habitat Adventure themed visit. The visits have been designed using the National Curriculum across Key Stages 1 and 2 to create an educational experience for your learners.
It isn’t all for Primary and Secondary Schools. We have packages to suit higher education and businesses.
Our residential courses can be designed to focus on:

Outdoor Education Studies to support what students are learning in the classroom environment
All of our activities can be adapted. We want everyone no matter their ability to be able to participate and enjoy the outdoors!

Our instructors are fully qualified in our activities to make sure everyone is safe but also to support in the development of your participants.
Every visit is tailored with our team to meet your needs, with support every step of the way!
Everyone that visits will have an assigned instructor to support you during your visit.
For all visits specialist equipment for all activities are provided e.g. harnesses and helmets.

We do not provide lunch for day groups unless specifically requested. All residentials include breakfast, lunch and dinner during your stay apart from breakfast and lunch on your arrival day and dinner on your departure day.
All our food is prepared onsite by our dedicated catering team. We take special care when designing our menu to be as child friendly as possible to ensure everyone gets the fuel they need to enjoy their action-packed adventure! We encourage a healthy active lifestyle. We have a 5* hygiene certificate and fully trained staff dedicated to supporting child health.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy outdoor adventurous activities and stay with us
We have one fully functional room on site which is fully equipped with a lowering sink, hoisted shower, lowering bed and hoist. There are other student beds in these rooms so that individuals are not excluded.
The toilet in the room is fully accessible with a hoist system from the bed to the bathroom
Our sports hall also has a hoist system and shower facilities
We also have a disabled toilet in the middle of the site however this is not equipped with a hoist but does have a lowered shower
We do not have lifts in the accommodation blocks To reach the accommodation and dining hall there are small steps but we have wheelchair lifts for both of these areas
