OKTOBERFEST OPENING DAY

September 16, Outdoor Recreation, H15 On the dot of 12 noon, Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter will tap the first barrel, thus declaring the “Wiesn“ - as the Munich people call it – officially open. Each year the fest gets bigger and the “Maß” beer gets colder. Traditional Bavarian music, famous roller coasters and fistfuls of beer make this the biggest Volksfest in the world. YOGA EVENING IN THE WOODS

Come see the fuzzy, friendly muppets from the beloved neighborhood and Katie, a military kid on Sesame Street who is transitioning back to civilian life. There will be a 35 minute mini-show, as well as giveaways. This event is free to attend.

September 29, Outdoor Recreation, H15 Join Outdoor Recreation for a historical tour of the catacombs running beneath the city of Nuremberg. Although the subterranean passages have fulfilled many duties throughout the ages, they have been most recently used as beer storage for the multitude of breweries in the Nuremberg area. Accordingly, homemade beer is the big theme of this tour through the rock-cut cellars beneath the city. It ends, of course, with a beer tasting and a visit to the craft brewery “Hausbrauerei Altstadthof.” Tour, tasting and transport included. Price: $29/person

September 16, Hohenfels Post Gym, B88 Come check out some of the Fitness classes offered such as Yoga, Kettelbell AMPD, Tabata workouts, and Hip Hop Dance. Personal Trainers will be on site ready to answer questions about Personal Training services. Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided. Free Fitness Day T-shirts will be available for the first 20 registered participants. Price: free

Our staff work very hard to make sure that Children are well cared for and have every opportunity to grow and develop. The ‘All Star’ program is set up to show staff how much we appreciate them and recognize their tireless efforts of caring for our Children and Youth. Please help us by writing ‘star notes’ for excellence that you see. Each facility has a special location for the ‘All Star’ cards to be posted. At the end of each month, the cards will be collected and an award will be given for the caregiver who has the most ‘Star Cards’.
