This Week and Beyond
Thank You for Investing in Life at Grace-St. Luke’s | 2020 Stewardship Campaign Update 12.12.19 Many thanks to all who’ve made financial pledges to support life at Grace-St. Luke’s in 2020. For those who haven’t, there’s still time! Each pledge (an estimate of what you plan to give monthly or weekly) helps the team of finance committee, vestry, and rector to budget for our essential ministries and outstanding programs. As a faith community, all operations and ministries are funded by financial commitments from each household, and every pledge amount matters. Your pledge gift becomes cans on the shelves of our Food Pantry that has fed 600 households this year and meals for the approximately 100 weekly guests of More Than A Meal. Your pledge gift helps to fund significant property maintenance and utilities expenses, increasing healthcare costs for the staff and clergy, and supplies necessary for weekly worship services. A total of 287 pledges and alms (non-pledged giving) have supported the 2019 budget, and we are encouraged by pledges arriving almost daily toward the 100% participation goal for 2020. Between today and December 22, we are asking for an extraordinary number of investments to be made either online at www.gracestlukes.org/pledge or by paper pledge form for the offering plate or delivery to Parish Administrator Linda Stine at the church office for the weekly pledge report to our Treasurer, Bev Trojan. In faith and gratitude for life at Grace-St. Luke’s, Allison and Steven King, 2020 Stewardship Chairs
Parish Hall Forum (Dec. 15) Join Rabbi Micah Greenstein and our rector for the second of an insightful two-week session, Bookends of Gratitude – The Countdown to Christmas and Chanukah. Greenstein upholds, “Chanukah is not the 'Jewish Christmas,' and it didn’t make the final cut of the Old Testament in Protestant and Jewish Scriptures, but Chanukah has timeless and powerful messages. It all comes back to gratitude.”
