Driver Evaluations are a great option for new drivers preparing for a road test or companies wanting to evaluate their driver’s skills. Our instructors will take learners through a mock road test and provide feedback regarding which areas in which learner excels and the areas which need further development.

This classroom and practical training is a requirement to write the Air Brakes Q Endorsement knowledge test with an Alberta registry agent.

Class 1 drivers are in demand! Completion of MELT Class 1 training is a requirement to obtain a Class 1 driver’s license. A Class 1 license allows drivers to operate a single motor vehicle with three or more axles or a vehicle with three or more axles pulling a trailer with one or more axles.

To qualify for this program learners must have held a Class 3 license with two or more years of experience. Learners must apply and receive approval from the Alberta Government prior to registration.

READY TO RIDE: CLASS 6 MOTORCYCLE TRAINING IN PERSON, ON CAMPUS | 20 HOURS | $679

Learners will learn the latest in motorcycle defensive driving theory and riding skills, preparing them well beyond the requirements for the Class 6 Motorcycle Road Test. This program is designed for riders of all skill levels who want to achieve their Class 6 Motorcycle license or would like a refresher course. Includes classroom instruction and extensive on-bike training. Learners are provided with motorcycles and are asked to bring their own safety equipment.

This course explores the practice of artificial insemination for cattle and includes both classroom learning and hands-on practice. Learners will review the anatomy of female organs, selection of females, equipment, heat detection, timing of breeding, and placement of thawed semen. PRODUCTION ANIMAL ULTRASOUND PREGNANCY DETECTION IN PERSON, FAIRVIEW CAMPUS | 2 DAYS | $1,830 | FALL 2023

This course allows Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) to increase their skills in ultrasound pregnancy detection in bovines. Learners will explore all aspects of reproductive ultrasound, including the benefits of practice, various techniques, and identification of pregnant cows. This course includes both theory and hands-on learning. Following course completion, learners must complete 100-200 ultrasound assessments under the supervision of a Registered Veterinarian to demonstrate competency. *This micro-credential was made possible through funding from the Government of Alberta.

REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT IN PERSON, ON CAMPUS | WINTER 2024

Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) or drone use is expanding rapidly in Canada. Drones are widely used in various industries, including real estate, construction, and agriculture. Transport Canada now requires a drone pilot certificate for all individuals operating drones weighing over 250 grams. This course ensures learners are well prepared to challenge Transport Canada’s exams and flight review to receive the Pilot Certificate – Basic Operations and the Pilot Certificate – Advanced. *This micro-credential was made possible through funding from the Government of Alberta.

SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE EXAMINER - A PACED ONLINE | 48 HOURS | $835

This course provides healthcare practitioners with the skills and knowledge required to support victims of recent sexual assault. NWP uses a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to the provision of compassionate care to adults and adolescents. A small amount of pediatric content is also included for examiners who may work in remote areas. Open to Registered Nurses.

RURAL SEXUAL ASSAULT CARE – EXPANDED (RSAC-E) MICRO-CREDENTIAL The RSAC- E Micro-credential prepares rural medical professionals to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed care to survivors of recent sexual assault. The online training is built upon the Enhanced Emergency Sexual Assault Services (EESAS) program developed by Dr. Carter-Snell and focuses on the role and responsibility of healthcare professionals in assessment, intervention, evidence collection, and court testimony.

Prerequisite Open to Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Midwives Midwives, Paramedics and Physicians.

Learner Requirements Access to a computer with a stable internet connection is necessary. Learners are required to complete all self-study modules and assessments including quizzes at the conclusion of each module and two video case simulations. Participants must achieve at least 80% to move on to the next module. Multiple attempts are permitted until mastery is achieved.
