The GPIC President vowed that the company would continue its efforts to support various cultural projects, designed to protect and preserve the heritage of the island, in order to remain a picture of the Kingdom of Bahrain the way His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa wants: a beloved image of beauty, diversity and unity. The President then went on to thank H.E. Shaikha Mai for the warm reception and hospitality. In response, H.E. Shaikha Mai gave her sincere thanks and appreciation to the company›s delegation, headed by Mr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, for their advocacy in identifying a feature of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage. Her Excellency expressed gratitude for the major support offered by the company to the cultural sector, which reflects the true partnership between the private and public sector, stressing that Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company has always provided support and assistance to all cultural and heritage projects in the Kingdom. It was decided in the process of restoration to maintain the original shape of the building and renovate it using the traditional materials in this type of building, in order to be an excellent model of the old architectural style that characterized the Kingdom of Bahrain in previous centuries. The bin Matar residence preserves a wonderful heritage of architectural models for future generations of Bahrain and commemorates the family bin Matar, Bahraini leaders in the pearl trade.
