Appointments made for health director, SB40 board Discussion was held regarding the reappointment of a county health director. Wayne Uthe made a motion to appoint Cheryl Alexander as the Daviess County Health Director for 2019-2020; David Cox seconded, and the motion passed. Discussion was held regarding an opening on the County Disabilities (SB40) board. David Cox made a motion to appoint Vanessa Mullins to the open position that was Teresa Eaton’s ending in 2020; Wayne Uthe seconded, and the motion passed. James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, met with the commission to discuss work this week. The crew will continue to work on the shop this week. Austin Hibler, MoDOT, met with the commission to update them on upcoming projects for 2019. The April election was discussed. The commission updated the Missouri Surplus Agreement
with current information. Jon Dwiggins, Howe and Company, met with the commission to update them on some road and bridge issues. The commission signed paperwork for funding approval for the PWSD#2 water line project. Sheriff says beware of scam phone calls The sheriff’s office has been receiving numerous calls regarding residents who are receiving telephone calls from Publishers Clearing House, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and persons pretending to be a relative needing money. PLEASE do not reveal any personal information. Do not send money or give the callers more than a second on your phone. These calls are SCAMS! 1-30 -19 4:42 am - Pattonsburg residential fire. No injuries reported. Red Cross contacted. 6:20 am – Jamesport, vehicle rollover. Injuries reported. 11:44 am – Jamesport, pursuit looking for suspect. • Warrant issued for illon urtis, 20, Gallatin, for harassment and tampering with vehicle. Missouri 6 near Route F in Daviess County, and was transported to DDCRJ. Mehrhoff was found to be in possession of two Tramadol pills, which she said she took from her grandmother. She has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, D felony, and possession of liquor by a minor, D misdemeanor. Curtis slashes tires in Gallatin
Dillon Curtis, 20, Gallatin, was charged Jan. 29 with harassment first degree, E felony, misdemeanors of tampering with motor vehicle and property damage, and trespassing, an infraction. According to the probable cause statement prepared by Gallatin policeman Rick A. Poynter, Curtis cut the tires on
a 2014 Chevy Cruze with a razor type knife between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Jan. 13 in Gallatin. The document states that the owner of the car had called the police earlier in the morning and that Curtis’s actions were in retribution for the victim’s call to authorities. Curtis was arrested Jan. 30, with bond set at $10,000.
Daviess County PWSD #1 Announcements Due to the inclement weather conditions of extreme cold and heavy snow all of the PWSD#1 of Daviess County customers’ water usage will be estimated for the billing period that will be mailed on January 31, 2019. Because of the extreme cold weather PWSD#1 is asking all of their customers to be aware of and check their water lines for leaks. Thank you for your patience and understanding. r
