The Eleventh Hour

Have you ever been in the eleventh hour? The eleventh hour is when you find yourself in a place where time is running out! You have prayed fervently about a need in your life or someone else’s. You know without a doubt that God is able to meet that need. You share this urgent prayer request with others—just to know that you are not praying about it alone seems to make the burden less heavy! Then, in the course of your day, you meet someone and share that urgent prayer need with them. They remind you of the goodness of God. When it seems that time is running out, God is always right on time! They remind you that God can meet the need even in the eleventh hour. Now that is the petition you lift up to God! You do your part and trust God with the rest!

In my situation, my daughter and her family were trying to find a home to move into. As the day came closer for them to move out, I was trying not to worry. Sometimes, we can get so caught up in what is currently going on in our life that we forget how God has been with us so many times before. It is so easy to get stressed and discouraged.

I had prayed that God in His great goodness would work a miracle—if it be His will, that He would make available that home they needed! I knew when He did that it would renew their faith and mine in a faithful God! It is like knowing if you can make it through the storm, it might be possible to see the rainbow.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

To trust the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, that is wise trust! “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10).

I can tell you that God was once again an on-time God? My family has a roof over their heads and a place to lay down at night. God worked it out in such a way that we knew it was not a coincidence, but His divine plan! My heart was so thrilled when my daughter called to tell me the news. I was so overcome that it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Lord, Your goodness and blessings to us are more than we can comprehend. Thank you, Lord, for letting me share in this blessing with my family. I know, Lord, there is another storm brewing on the horizon. I just pray

that I will remember when the boat of life seems to be filling with water, I will always remember Your faithfulness.

“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ saith my soul, ‘Therefore will I hope in Him.’ The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him” (Lamentations 3:22-25).

I pray that you too put your trust in a God who is faithful.
