Encouragement

Ihope these words will help deepen your devotion and enhance your zeal to live as a continual success in God’s eyes.

Being An Encourager.

Mark Twain said, “I can live a full two months on a good compliment.” Wanting to be lifted is a natural desire!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

This does not just happen, nor is it a work that should always be left up to another— it is our role too. It takes work, love and compassion to elevate someone high through words and actions. Think of all the opportunities still within this month to both lift-up and be uplifted as you enjoy genuine fellowship and spiritual worship with your siblings in Christ.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

The Heart of a Champion.

God’s people are champions because they let God do the training and guiding. There is coming a day when the crown will be placed upon our heads for successfully running the race! It is the crown of championship that is given because Victory was the mindset even before the race was completed. God’s champions remind themselves that even when the odds are stacked against us, we are yet “more than conquerors through Him…” (Rom. 8:37).

Press On Towards Future Victories.

Even Paul did not allow himself to be gripped with regret from a painful past. In Philippians 3:12-14, Paul says he would not allow the failures of his past to destroy the good things he could accomplish in his present state.

He also would not allow the past to stand between him and the goal. What was Paul’s secret? He learned the value of “Newness” in Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). He continually replaced all negative attitudes, inhibiting emotions and carnal thoughts with eternally empowering and positive ones. May our minds be on the victories promised and the crown of life we have been guaranteed. May our Great God continue to watch over and care for His body of redeemed through Christ. May we each more fully adopt the mindset of a faithful disciple/student/servant. “What can I do and say to edify saints along the way, bringing God glory today?” Keep praying for God’s hand to do great things through His church and be a fellow worker of each of them.
