Micheline Robichaud, 35, and James Fletcher, 36, generously shared their wedding day with a good portion of the populous of Blue Mountain Village as well as with their 80 guests. And a good time was had by all. “I know everyone says this, but our friends still say it was the best wedding they ever went to because it was a whole weekend of partying,” said Micheline, who scenically married her love James on June 20, 2015 at the top of a mountain overlooking Georgian Bay and Blue Mountain Village. “We did a quick rehearsal on the mountain on Friday, then went down to the village and partied with our friends all night. We made it a mini destination wedding.” The couple’s unconventional wedding echoed their unconventional meeting on Twitter. After James started following Micheline’s comments, he found out she was single. So, he asked her out via Twitter. “I said ‘you can’t ask people out on Twitter – it’s not a dating site,’” laughed Micheline. “His profile picture was a cartoon from American Dad. But he was so nice and I found everything he tweeted really funny. I eventually said ‘yes’ because he offered The Keg. Who doesn’t like a free steak dinner? When I showed up, he had an R2-D2 lunch bag that lights up and blinks for me because I posted, months before, how much I loved it. He ordered it from the States weeks before I even agreed to go out with him. Isn’t that the greatest?” Their choice of wedding party was more traditional, with lots of family among the 11 members. Micheline’s son and groomsman Kieran Robichaud, 14, walked fl ower girls and nieces Brianna and Reeghan Robichaud down the aisle. Twin nephews Kai and Kaz Robichaud acted as ring bearers. >>
