DearCo-opOwners,

First,IwanttooffersincerethankstoSteveKayforhis steadyleadershipasBoardPresident.Stevesteppedup duringachallengingperiod,andwearegratefulforthe time,care,andintegrityhebroughttotheroleHis servicehelpedlaythegroundworkfortheprogress we ’reseeingtoday.

AsIbeginmytermasPresident,I’mfeelingdeeply hopefulOurCo-opisturningacornerfinancially, operationallyandinourrelationshipwiththe communityWestillhaveworktodo,buttheenergy andmomentumarereal.

I’vebeenpartofGoodFoodsinonewayoranotherfornearly25yearsasayoung staffer,alongtimesupporterandnowaboardmemberThisplacehadaprofound impactonmewhenIwasjuststartingoutintheworld.Itfeltlikehome.Andin manyways,itstilldoes.

Thatsenseofbelongingandpurposeissomethingwewanttooffereveryperson whowalksthroughourdoorsTheCo-opisnotjustagrocerystoreIt’saliving expressionofcooperation,sharedvaluesandsupportforKentuckyfarmers, producersandfamilies

Inatimewhensomuchfeelsuncertainanddivided,theCo-opstandsasa reminderthatcommongroundstillexists.Peoplefromallwalksoflifebelievein goodfood,stronglocaleconomies,andtakingcareofourneighbors.Thatspiritis alivehereandit’ssomethingworthgrowing

ThankyouforbeingpartoftheCo-opcommunity.Whetheryou’vebeenwithusfor decadesorjustdiscovereduslastweek,we’regladyou’rehere.Let’skeepbuilding together.

YoumayhaveheardthatPublixhasopenednearby,butwedon’tseethemasadirect competitorGoodFoodsdoesthingsdifferentlyandbetteronalocallevelWeoffer healthier,moretransparentfoodchoices,andwe’reproudtosupportlocalfarmers, bakers,andmakers.Weknowwhereourfoodcomesfromandweknowmanyofyouby name.

WhilechainslikeWholeFoodshavestruggledwithsupplychaindisruptions,ourstrong localandregionalpartnershipsgaveusanedge.Ourin-housebuyersmakepurchasing decisionsspecificallyforthisstorenotacorporateofficesowecanrespondquickly andintentionallytoyourneeds

Thispieisfullofsweetstrawberries,withhintsof lemonandvanilla.Theflakycrustisbiscuit-likeand fleckedwithsparklingsugarforevenmoreappeal. It’salsoveryjuicy,sobesuretoputfoilorpanson thebottomovenshelftocatchthejuices.

3poundsfreshstrawberries,hulledandhalved 1/4cupcornstarch 1tablespoonfreshlemonzest 1teaspoonvanilla 2tablespoonshalfandhalf 3tablespoonsturbinadosugar

Getoutabakingpan10by15inchesand1inchdeep.

Inalargebowl,mixtheflour,½cupsugarand1½teaspoonssalt.Cutinthebutter,then drizzleinicewaterasyoutosswithafork.Ifneeded,drizzleinanadditionaltablespoonor sooficewatertomakeadough.Formintoarectangle,wrapinplasticwrap,andrefrigerate for30minutes.

Placethehulled,halvedstrawberriesinalargebowl.Addtheremainingsugar,cornstarch, lemonzest,vanillaandremainingsalt.Mix.

Heattheovento425Fandplaceafoil-linedbakingsheetonthebottomovenshelftocatch anyoverflowingstrawberryjuices.

Onaflouredcounter,cutoffonethirdofthedough.Rollthelargerpieceto12by16inches. Transferthedoughtothepan,patlightlytofitintothepan,leavingtheedgeshangingover. Rollouttheremainingpieceofdoughintoapiece11by16inches.Distributetheberriesover thedoughinthepan.Placethesecondsheetofdoughoverthepie.Foldtheedgesofthe lowercrustovertheuppercrust,crimpthecrustandslashthetop.

Brushthetopofthepiewithhalfandhalfandsprinklewithturbinadosugar.

Bakefor15minutesat425F.Turnthetemperaturedownto400F.Placeasheetoffoilover thepie,thenbake25to30minutes,untilbubbling.
